Return items you ordered

You can return items sold on Amazon. When you return an item, you may see different return options depending on the seller, item, or reason for return.

Depending on the reason for your return, you can choose to return an item for a refund or a replacement.

Need to return something? We make it easy with prepaid return options on most items.

Step by step instructions:

  1. Click Return an item above.
  2. Find the item you want to return and select Return items.

    Note: If you are returning an item sold and fulfilled by a third-party seller, the button may be labelled Return or replace items. Click the Return or replace items button.

  3. Select the items you want to return.
  4. Enter the quantity of items, choose a response from the Why are you returning this menu, and then add any additional information in the Comments box.
  5. Click Continue, and do one of the following:
    • If the item was fulfilled by Amazon AU, select your return option.
    • If the item was sold and fulfilled by a third-party seller, click Submit for Approval.
  6. Select your preferred return method. Your return label or code will be generated.
  7. Send us your return package as per the instructions provided with the return label or code.


  • If you don't see the order you're looking for, use the Search all orders button on the 'Your Orders' page to search for the order you want to return.
  • Some sellers may need to review your return request. After the seller reviews the request, they'll provide a label or instructions on how to return your items. If you don't receive a response within two business days, you can request a refund under our A-to-z Guarantee. For more information, go to A-to-z Guarantee.
  • If your item(s) is eligible for return via Drop Off you’ll see prepaid Australia Post or ParcelPoint return options.

    If your item is ineligible for a prepaid return, you will receive a self-ship label.
  • If you need to print your return label, you can do this by going to Manage returns. Print your label and return authorisation, put the return authorisation inside of your package and attach the label to the outside.
  • RETURNING LARGE TVS: If you’re returning a TV with a screen size of 55 inches or more, or a large musical instrument (like Keyboards, Pianos and Drumkits), please contact us, and we will arrange for Toll to collect it for you.
  • If you create a return for a replacement, a replacement order with the same shipping speed that was used on your original item will be created. You can use the return label or code provided to you to send your original item back. You'll need to return the original item within 30 days of the replacement request to avoid being charged for both the original and replacement items.
  • If you return items in which you've saved personal information, such as laptops, cameras or other electronic devices, you must erase this information completely before sending the product back to us.
  • When you return an item, your eligibility for a refund and how your refund is issued, may differ based on a number of factors, including how long you have had the item, how the item was purchased and the reason for the return. Learn more about Refunds
