This isn’t a bad story, but it’s also not a great one. It’s pleasant enough., but lacking in depth and passion. The romance is a very slow burn, and it also felt like all the other story elements were in hold until the romance had ignited. So that after it did, so did the rest of the drama, which made the pacing feel off. At the end of the book I still don’t feel I know much about Julian. It all about Matt really. And his poisonous mother got far more story time than she should have. Shrug. I don’t regret reading it, but it’s it memorable.
