I have two girls - ages 10 and 13. We try and set aside some time to play a board game together (along with my wife) every now and then. With the age difference between the girls, competitive games such as Risk or Monopoly would often result in one or the other of the girls having a disagreement etc. With Pandemic however, we must all work together to win the game. We either all win - or all lose. While there is a minor learning curve, my 13 year old took it all on board and actually explained how the game worked to the rest of us. If you are looking for a family game I can't recommend this highly enough. It is a refreshing concept to have a game requiring cooperation as opposed to working against each other.
