This story is centred around a very naïve and vulnerable Katie, as the main character.

Katie finds herself pregnant with twin girls to her property developer, casual boyfriend Ian, who is delighted to start a family with her. He lets her move into a property he has bought, to settle in before the arrival of her babies. On arrival at her new home, Katie finds that it is totally derelict and rundown.
With Ian not responding to any calls or messages, Katie has no option than to spend the night there.

Ian is horrified when he finally turns up, and sends Katie to a hotel until the house is repaired.

Paula is a doula who befriends Katie. She is there when a very lonely, frightened and seemingly abandoned, expectant mother needs someone.
Katie soon loses control of her own life and that of her babies. Who can she trust?
This book has some really evil and twisted characters, with a storyline very similar to "The Mothers Mistake" by the same author.
The book has a second story, told by an unknown, abused young girl.

I scored it 5 stars, as I enjoyed it overall.
