This is a book that NEVER goes back onto my book shelf. Since the first illuminating read, I dip back into it constantly. As a JEMS certified practitioner I find it a valuable adjunct to the JEMS Movement ART courses. My colleagues who have not attended the courses have also found it insightful and useful as a standalone resource.
Joanne describes and explores human movement with a profound practicality that is accessible to practitioners and lay people. She breaks down the complex elements required for movement efficacy to a level of simplicity that is only possible with a deep understanding of not just the musculoskeletal system, but the nervous system that drives it.
The exercises/drills included in the book will assist in building stability, but perhaps more importantly they open up new movement possibilities and unlock dormant potential. They are described succinctly and with an elegant simplicity.
If you want less pain, more energy and to move better, faster and stronger - or help others to, this is a must read.
