Arizona Vengeance book four is totally owned by Dax Monahan. I've really been looking forward to reading Dax's story, he's my favourite. As this story runs along the same timeline as Legend, there are a few repetitive areas, but these are now told from Dax's POV, so it was great getting a different perspective.
Dax has lost his childhood friend and best friend, Lance Miles, to a mugging in New York. He goes there to give some support to Regan, Lance's little sister. no longer is she the little girl he remembers, she's now grown into a beautifully stunning woman ... he's mesmerised. But things aren't as they appear to be, Regan is struggling both in health and financially.
Dax's protective nature comes forth and completely stuns Regan by suggesting they marry. Of course it would just be a marriage of convenience so that she can get everything she needs ... but will Regan agree? Does she really have a choice? Can they live together under the guise of friendship or are they tempting fate?
This "fake" marriage has far deeper consequences than either of them ever thought of. Are Dax's wild bachelor days a thing of the past, or will he continue to play the playboy? Regan had always dreamed of living in California, but will moving to Arizona change that?
Once again Sawyer Bennett has written a beautiful thought provoking story, with plenty of humour and angst woven throughout. I love Dax, he's sweet, generous, a little bit alpha, dominance tendencies ... but boy does he know how to melt a woman's heart. Regan was simply gorgeous, sassy enough to stand up to Dax, she had the type of personality that drew me in and made me want to hug her and be her best friend.
Ms Bennett also gives a little bit more insight into Tacker's story and I can't wait to read his book ... which is next by the way. She also introduces Willow, Dax's sister, and we finally get to see more of Dominik Carlson, Arizona Vengeance's owner ... now his book will be really interesting.
Loved Dax and Regan and I highly recommended their story.
