This book was just what I needed! Plenty of laughs and romance from a couple who are eerily similar in many ways. And, Pippa uses the word outlandish. I love that word.
Zeus knows people think he’s too big, too egotistical and just too much all round. He knows people see Zeus the hockey player and not Zeus the real person. And he’s tired of it.
Joey "Fireball" Diamonte may not be physically on par with Zeus but she matches him in ego, wit, toughness, and appetite. But in some cases it’s still a man’s world and Joey’s brand of aggressiveness leaves her at a disadvantage.
When Zeus and Joey get together, it’s explosive. Their banter, teasing and jokes are a lot of fun but it masks the vulnerability they both keep hidden under their tough skins. In the end they are both lonely and looking for love.
Their rollercoaster of a relationship takes us on a wonderful ride. The book is definitely peppered with plenty of fun times but it’s the softer times between, the times when they open up to each other that put the ‘r’ in this romance.
I cannot wait for the next book. Oh, and do yourself a favour and sign up for Pippa’s newsletters. They’re as funny as her books.
