I enjoyed the unique perspective this book offers. It is rare to find the old tales told from a woman's point of view and with women as the central characters and heroes. I love how it mingles the celebration of the season changes with old magic and heroes stories. It also does not make light of the choices a warrior faces in battle when forced to spill blood. A true woman's perspective- courage, strength, empathy and a respect for Mother Nature.
