I have been a Forsyth fan ever since Day of the Jackal but I feel betrayed by The Fox. It reads like a high school student's English composition assignment and seems to be no more than a tubthumping right-wing propaganda piece. Predictable plot, no character development, minimal dialogue and a cartoonish positioning of the plucky Brits against the usual baddies. I found myself becoming more and more angry that I was wasting my time reading this and gave up at half way through. This book has destroyed Forsyth's legacy for me. If I could give it zero stars I would.
