I always love reading his books because of the complete job of research always done but in a novel like way that keeps me captivated to the end of the bibliography. Nothing less than brilliant. My personal interest in many of the campaigns from family interest with a grandfather having been featured in both world wars, was in France and instrumental in the jungle war later in PNG in WWII to a great uncle who is well mentioned in Mawson for his feats of geological excellence and saving Mawson JUST adds to the read. I went to Cocos so much more informed during the Centenary of the SS Emden sinking and this book increases my understanding of the war in France because it was never talked of by either sides of our families. Thanks Peter. I think this is my 7th of your books and I have a huge library of FICTION and reference but due to an eye disease I rarely read except on my iPad even though I buy your books still.
