There's a lot to love about this story, the characters, and the settings.
For me, I loved that Abi and Ryder are flawed human beings who are both dealing with big life challenges. I love that they both make stupid decisions and mistakes, but manage to get past them.
There were a few times at the beginning that I thought the dialogue was a little bit awkward or clunky, but this didn't last long and the rest of the book was smooth and flowed well.
It was especially nice to have an outback Australian setting for a good chunk of the book, as well as some great secondary characters and a bit of indigenous flavour as well. As an Australian, I thought this was really authentic and well done, and not "over-done" for international readers, as sometimes is the case.
I'd definitely recommend for anyone looking for something a bit different.
