This is a delightful story about Liam a former soldier with PTSD and Billy, an Afghan refugee who has her own demons. Over a period of two years they become friends, go through a healing process, come to trust and understand and eventually love one another. There are sub plots about other refugees living in the small town and their gradual acceptance into the community. The writing is excellent and even the minor characters are well developed. The only negative issue about the book is that the last 10% of the story is too mushy.
