Unfortunately, this was riddled with cliches, inconsistencies, ridiculous scenarios and characterisations. Romance writers of the world, here's a cheap tip: want to stand out in this crowded market? Why don't you try coming up with a hero who's not grumpy, brusque, moody and a sense of humour would be highly appreciated. Try it. You may be surprised.

The piece de resistance that made me laugh out loud was this: By the time they reached Hintley House, Jack had his inappropriate lust in hand. . It wasn't meant literally, but come on...

Gave up at around 40%.
