I'm not sure if it was because I wasn't really expecting to like this one much that it surprised me with how good I found it! Really like Ally I thought she had incredible strength and independence and an awesome sense of humour. Being a seer gave her special gifts that come in handy but like any culture there are those who judge everyone for a few individuals mistakes and Ally certainly wasn't immune to other peoples prejudices against seers. I thought she handles those with dignity and her true character shone through. Derren grew on me after he got over the whole hate he had for seers and I thought he made a good match with Ally. Most of the conflict centred around Ally and the females and I thought their interrogation skills were fantastic! The plot was good, even if a tad predictable but still had me wanting to turn the pages. Loved meeting Cain and Ally's uncles and seeing all the others from the Phoenix Pack, overall a good read. Looking forward to the next in the series.
