Tana's books start off so promising; I become hooked on the first page and I care very much about her characters, in this case it's Frank, his daughter HGolly and his ex wife, his siblings, even his mother. But then, Tana starts to wander about three quarters of the way through the story and she becomes very bogged down in relationships. I was very cross when, at 89% on my Kindle, and I was seeking a wind up or resolution or at least something about his daughter Holly and his ex, when I saw: ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS covering a number of pages as well as several chapters of her next book. This is very poor marketing of a really good writer, whose readers are left still enmeshed in Faithful Place, only to have to take on a whole new bunch of characters. Not happy and not returning any time soon.
