This story was just perfect. I tried the sample and as soon as I finished that, bought the full book without hesitation. You can tell good writing when you see it, even if it is so rare to come across these days. The story wasn't predictable, as so many of these stories are, and the main characters actually behaved like adults rather than children. There was deceit in the storyline, of course, but none of that refusal to communicate, and silly overreactions that plague so many of these historical romances. The author knows her stuff, and didn't just fill the story with meaningless drivel. She also is one of those people who manages to write clever, interesting, romantic conversations between characters, which are an absolute pleasure to read. I cried happy tears when I finished it, and was left with that warm glow in my heart and sappy smile lingering on my face that you only get when you read a well-crafted sweet, sweet romance. Thanks for your beautiful story Ashtyn!
