I have been captivated by Craig’s books right from the start, and they are very hard to put down. The previous couple of books were a slightly different style but still very enjoyable. But this one is back to the “feel” of the original series and is great. Somehow Craig’s writing style is both very detailed and readable, so it is slower going than other SF writers because I want to read it all without skimming sections. Most of all I am impressed with how a lot of loose ends from the earlier books have been addressed if not resolved - and in a fairly believable way without too much reliance on luck. Maybe the banter with Skippy is a bit overdone, but I guess that is part of the charm. I am happy that there may be a couple more stories to follow, looking forward to them. Highly recommended, but start with book 1.
