Bruce Pascoe, you are indeed an observer of the past and present. My first thought on reading Dark Emu was that 'It is a must for schools.' We have two granddaughters at primary school and I have already sent a copy of Dark Emu to their parents. I was so elated to hear that the book will now be available for children of school age. I have just waded through Bill Gammage's book 'The Biggest Estate on Earth. You have taken a path with much ease and understanding and drawn the imagery that we all need of Aboriginal Nations to lead us through to new beginnings. A touch of Wonder and Doubt that moves us all - children included to ask the insightful questions to move towards reconciliation.
