There's a first time for everything, and this is the first time I've given Tate less than 5 stars. After reading the original version in the Petting Them anthology, I was excited for the full version. It started out strong and it still had Tate's knack for writing well, but I feel the ending was rushed and a bit like she's lost interest in it. Ideally, this book could be a stand alone with a little bit more detail in it. I enjoyed the story line and the characters; the romance scenes were good but I'm hoping they get better as the series go on (so much teasing Tate!) I found the cat mentions too much, but I'm more of a dog person so that's just a personal thing. I will definitely keep reading the series because it has good bones and I still love Tate James's books!
