Just amazing! This is a series I want to keep reading over and over to pick up the little hints and threads that are revealed over time, revealing a complex web of a storyline. Once again the worldbuilding continues to excel, and the characters are just perfectly written (not that they are perfect themselves - perfectly flawed perhaps?).

Lera and her quint continue to progress through the trials, while trying to manage the council's ulterior motives (and determine the full extend of them) as well as manage Lera's newly found abilities. Shade is still recovering from his near burn out at the end of the last book, but continues to protect Lera in the way she needs. Lera learns more about Coal, River and Tye's pasts in this book as well - all of it devastating in their own way, and all giving Lera a better understanding of who her quint really are. She grows closer to all of them because of this, and they all discover a new aspect to her powers that just might help save them and Lumos.

Loved seeing Autumn more in this one, and a potential love interest for her as well. She is a welcome friend and sounding board for Lera as well, which Lera sorely needed.

Can't wait for the next book and highly recommend this series to any fantasy or RH lover.
