This is the first book of Annie’s that I have read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It tells the story of Angie and Liam who were in a relationship in London until Angie’s visa expired and she had to return to Australia. She was devastated that Liam seemed to not be interested in following her back, so she picked herself up and got on with life. She purchased a small veterinary practice in the country and was quite happy until the day that Liam walked in the door. He had been summoned back to Australia by his Gran who had called her grandchildren, to get them to come back and help with the family farm, as his grandfather had been taken ill and couldn’t manage any more. Little did he know that this was where Angie had set herself up in her own practice, and when Liam adopted a stray dog – Willow – who was injured and needed vet attention they were equally shocked to see each other. What proceeds is a pair of star-crossed lovers who are still in love with one another but are both under a misconception about their relationship. This was a really sweet romance and I kept turning pages until the end. There were a couple of other characters too Lucy and her husband Garth, who have a newborn and there is a bit of matchmaking going on there as well. I was given this book in exchange for my honest opinion by the Author. I have found this was actually book #2 in the Prickle Creek series, so will now have to read #1 which is Lucy & Garth’s story and will look forward to the subsequent books to find out more about Liam’s siblings.
