It was a contrived meet-cute, having the leads thrown together they were, and in some ways massively inappropriate for a modern readership that reads as highly sexist and degrading. I mean, what father would force his daughter to live with a co-worker before handing over the business? It's like she's a 14-year-old or something. She's been exposed to the industry her whole life and she has an MBA. I don't know. If he was playing matchmaker that also seems OTT. Even the conflict that drives the story had it's unfortunate moments, but when the two leads finally do connect, the story is nice. There are some really good parts of the story that come with the cohabitation and the things that men and women do to frustrate and also please each other. They were what make this story good. The plot contrivances? Meh. Still, I did enjoy it when I looked just at the writing for what it is.
