Unfortunately, I found this book to be quite average. I didn't feel any great connection with the story plot and found it to be aimed at a younger audience. There were no great twists to this story but it was an easy read, which is sometimes a good thing. I also found the world we were brought into wasn't explained well, which didn't allow for my imagination to set up the book world properly. Saying this though, once in the story and having a basic understanding on the settings it was interesting although slightly predictable.

So now after giving a little bit of my opinion, the book Legend, is told from the perspective of the two main characters, Day and June.

Day: the most wanted criminal from the slums, stealing money and supplies to help protect his family; who think he is dead, from a plague that has broken out in the cities. But how long can he continue outsmarting the Republic, escaping and making a fool of their government?

June: an elite student at Drake University and the Republic's shining prodigy, having completed three years of university by the age of 15. After the death of her parents, she has been brought up by her brother Metias, the captain of the Republic's military.

From very different worlds, the odds of these two crossing paths was very slim, until Metias is called on a mission for lab patrol at the hospital. The same hospital that Day plans to raid for a plague cure.

When Metias is found dead, Day now becomes the prime suspect for his murder. June now set on avenging her brother's death, is sent by the government on a mission to capture Day and to bring him in. But it's not as simple as she originally thought. During her mission both Day and June uncover the truth of what has really brought them together and the lengths the country will go to keep its secrets.

All in all this book had a good story plot that, I think, the majority of young people would enjoy. But if you are a person that prefers a more in depth story this may not be the book for you. Although this book wasn't one of my favourites, i do find myself curious as to how this series will end.

Happy readings.
