Let It All Burn is the start of what I hope will be a long series. This first installment sets up all the history and backstory of Darcie and her family. We get to learn that she is an amazing mother of three kids and family means the world to her. She’s in her early forty’s and is in perimenopause with the most wicked of hot flashes.
Most of this book is the lead up to what happens at the end, and gives us an insight of what we might expect in the following books. I really liked Darcie, she was someone that we of this age bracket could relate too. I felt she had a little chip on her shoulder and was very wary of men in general, but who can blame her with that Ex husband. Her kids are something she does take pride in and that’s mainly her doing. Another element to the household is Nana Stella, she is a hoot! Life is meant to be lived with that woman. There are other secondary characters, best friend and cousin as well as a very intriguing agent. Hope to read more of him in the next book.
DGS takes time in her novels to bring about not only a storyline that will keep us interested but the history to back up her clever mythical ideas. This book is not heavy or dark with the fantasy and if you like Greek mythology, you’ll get a kick out of this. If you love any of DGS characters, you will see that same flow happening in this book too. This is well worth the read.
