In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The reveals that started once I moved past the first part of the book were satisfyingly surprising and I found myself looking back for the clues leading to them. The last section of the book moved at a great pace and I found it difficult to put down. Clare Mackintosh tells a great story and I thought Murray was particularly well written. That said, I struggled in the beginning and very nearly put it down at an early stage. It was only the good reviews from others that I trust that kept me reading - I'm very glad I did, but this was definitely a slow burn.
