'Swink' is the fifth and final book in the sexy and fun Landry Family series. Adriana Locke really knows how to write great stories with fantastic characters. I am a big fan of this series which focus' on a couple and successive books have updates on the prior couples, so they can be read as a standalone.
In 'Swink', Camilla Landry is having a secret relationship with Dominic Hughes. She is keeping the secret from her older brothers because they try to control her life. The men in the family take their protectiveness to the extreme making Camilla (Cam) do what everyone else wants and little that she wants. Her only ally is Sienna, her twin.
Camilla and Dominic meet when he comes to her house to repair her air conditioner. They start with a lusty hook-up that grows into more over a year (this isn't insta-love). Even though I could feel the depth of emotion throughout the story, both Camilla and Dominic are afraid to admit their feelings because neither one wants to scare the other away.
Dominic is a regular guy. He's not rich, he's not famous. He works a normal job and lives paycheck to paycheck. He's tatted and sexy and likes his life. He never thought he'd be with Cam this long. It just happened and he's enjoying every second of it. They come from completely different walks of life, but they mesh together perfectly. Most of all, they are learning from each other... “I’m going to give you a tip,” I say. “I thought I was giving you the tip?” My giggle makes him grin. “You better be planning on giving me more than the tip, Hughes.” “Oh, baby. You’re going to get it all.”
The journey for this couple isn’t easy but it is a perfect read from start to finish. 'Swink' sucked me into the Landry’s world. The story is written in alternating points of view that allow the reader into Cam’s and Dom’s thought process and really feel connected to them. It is refreshing to have the female character as the wealthy person and the male character trying to fit into the family for a change! Dominic and Camilla's story had it all... it's beautiful, sexy, sweet, funny, and heartbreaking all at the same time. They might be from other sides of the tracks but that doesn't matter when it comes to love. They just have to figure it out. Great journey, great read. 5 Stars.
