Loved this story and the positive way Brenna portrayed the main character with Aspergers. Working in an industry supporting individuals with this diagnosis, unfortunately many in society do not have a clear understanding the challenges individuals with Aspergers face. Brenna helped breach that gap with this book. Such a beautiful story, well worth the read.

I absolutely adore William. And Jenna seems to be his perfect match because they are so opposite. William has autism (which is something I have some experience in) and I think he is very well portrayed within this book. Yes, he has issues but these should not and do not hold him back. He knows what he wants and he will fight, literally, to get it. What he wants is Jenna. Jenna is very much a free-spirit and although she is attracted to William she has issues with her own past.

I love the Medieval re-enactments. The whole concept is brilliant and I can just imagine William in his armour, with sword and shield in hand. Reading about William - I will use his full name as only family can call him Liam and only Jenna can call him Will - as he struggles to understand his own feelings and overcome obstacles just made me want to wrap my arms around him and give him a big hug, but I know he wouldn't like that. It was a very emotional roller-coaster ride for the characters and the reader (me).

So glad that William got his own story and what a lovely story it is.

I think this bunch of characters will stay with me for a very long time.

Sweet, earnest, literal William!

William, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, has been in love with Jenna since he set eyes on her two years before. His condition means that he takes everything literally and struggles with nuances of speech and facial expressions. However, he knows that he wants Jenna – not just for one night or a few weeks, but forever.

Jenna was a refugee of the Bosnian war and has suffered much loss and heartache in her young life. She is emotionally scarred and is scared to love again. When William accepts to fight a duel in her honour, she spends time with him to help him combat his aversion to crowds. She is hell bent on moving on to pastures new, until her feelings for William makes her question her decision.

“There’s this sharp stab of pain and then this feeling of rightness. Like we fit together.”

This was a great story set in a background of medieval re-enactment. William and Jenna are both good people who’ve been somewhat damaged by their early life – William by his mother’s rejection of him, and Jenna by the human losses she has suffered. Both feel unworthy and undeserving, and can’t see that both have so much to give. It was a heartfelt story and you can tell that the author has done her homework. William is a beautiful, quirky person, coping with his condition the best way he can, but he certainly carries scars from his childhood. Jenna is equally wonderful but I felt that she was short-sighted in her initial pursuit of William and how their relationship could impact him. However, she really understood William as a person and they really deserved to be happy together.

I've been given a new insight into love.

For the One by Brenna Aubrey has left me gobsmacked! (In a good way) I've never read a book like it before. On the surface it's a love story but underneath all that it's incredibly more! Brenna has written a book from a perspective I've never seen before but feel amazing for having read!

The story revolves around William and Jenna. If you have read Brenna’s other books, which I highly recommend you do, you will know them! If not you can still read For the One and thoroughly enjoy it as much as I did! The tale follows their journey of falling for each other. It was such a refreshing REAL read for me!

William has a form of autism and I can't begin to explain how this book has opened my eyes and allows me to see things from a different angle! How we as human beings can complicate so much in life, this book seemed to simplify things beautifully! Jenna is quite a troubled soul as a result of her past and my heart ached for her! These characters are some of the most beautiful fictional people that have graced a page for me!

The story is bursting at the seams with emotion that you will experience deeply for the duration of the book! Brenna’s talent as a fantastic writer shines throughout, capturing you and sucking you into the story! I geeked out and absolutely loved it!! I laughed out loud at bits (gaining some interesting looks) I cried at others and got that warm tingly feeling inside!! Gah - I'm gutted my journey with Jenna and William has ended!

All should take this tumultuous amazing journey! Be prepared for your emotions to take a hit!!

I'm giving For the One a fantabulous 5 stars!

....I have to say, this would be my favourite out of the Gaming series!
I absolutely adored Mia & Adam's story, it was written with so much compassion and what started as a typical love story (of the nerdy kind - I now love nerds!!) then progressed into such a sensitive subject that probably everyone can sympathise with and it was absolutely perfect, she nailed it with the perfect amount of humour, passion, compassion, love and heartache.

But William & Jenna's story topped it! I've read a few books with mental issues such as depression, OCD etc but this was the first of Autism / Aspergers and it was so enlightening as to how people see things, respond to things, how things effect them and it was darn right bloody brilliant!!!!

I absolutely totally head over heels without a doubt, love this book and I can't recommend it enough!!!
