When people press the button, video is activated uploaded to Ring.com website via your local Wifi and Internet connection. The Alexa Show will download from Ring.com and displays. The process of upload and download is very slow, I have 45Mbps connection and no other streaming device running, it still takes about 10s before you can see someone at the door. Battery last couple months with very light use. It's got nothing to do with my internet connection, the the speed at Ring website. So I'd say save your money or give it a go and find out yourself. Works on my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. I would call support number on account as they are excellent. My only complaint is I wish it rang for a longer time.

We have installed it under a cover, I would suggest that I would not install it somewhere without any shelter.
