4 out of 5 stars: Short story of love and hope

This short story is about Becky and Joe who are separated in a Zombie Apocalypse and risk life and limb in order to reunite for their New Year's Eve kiss. How far would you go to find the one you love?

Bonus Short Story: The Lot

This short story is about a Christmas Tree lot that hides deadly secrets.

Bonus Short Story: Killer Treads

A short story about a man who sees a flashy ad online advertising a twenty dollar treadmill. He buys the machine, too cheap to be scared, and realizes much to his dismay that this machine has a taste for blood. Run Big Bob run!

The Mike Beem Chronicles are a series of short stories that I wrote involving a character called Mike Beem. These stories don't have to be read in order. I wrote each of them to be their own story. They have an original beginning and a true end. You should be fine reading the current one you are thinking about buying, and you should be able to enjoy it as if it was its own separate entity.

As a side bar, I honestly did not intend to have multiple Mike Beem stories. I wrote A Zombie Christmas years ago, and decided recently to write a sequel for it. It was while I was revising the sequel that other stories involving Mike Beem started to spring into my mind. I decided to pursue those ideas, and now they are available for you to read and purchase for your Kindle.

Now, if you have to read them in order (I know I would), here is the best way to do it.

A Zombie Thanksgiving
A Zombie Christmas
A Zombie New Year's Eve
A Zombie Christmas 2
Flesh for the Zombies
Zombie Beach (Fall 2017)

Thanks again for humoring me. Thanks for reading and purchasing this story. And remember, it is better to sleep with the lights on at night. There are things that live in the darkness. Things better not seen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zombies Are Never the Biggest Hurdle to Survival in a Zombie Outbreak 20 December 2014
By James N Simpson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This is sort of three stories, the first two have a different central character and the two meet up in the third. They could easily become the first three chapters in a really good novel down the track if the author ever decided to turn them into one. Those who read a bit of this genre know the biggest danger to survival in a zombie outbreak isn't the zombie themselves. In the first story a girl is awakened in a house she has taken refuge in by hands groping her and three men arguing over who gets to go first. The second has a guy also seeking refuge in a house, he will also find a non zombie occupant something he has to make sure doesn't distract him from being infected by the teeth of the undead. Since the two stories come together for third I won't mention any of that one's plot.

This is pretty solid writing, I immediately upon reaching the final page had a look to see what else the author had written and realised I actually read another season themed zombie short story by him two years ago called a Zombie Christmas. That one's a great read too, I'll definitely check out other books by this author.
4.0 out of 5 stars Short story of love and hope 6 January 2015
By Sherry Fundin - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
A girl on her own, trying to survive not only zombies, but men of the human (?) kind and a ghost too. Could you do it? At times I felt sorry for Joe, other times I felt he deserves whatever he gets. Joe and Becky had gotten separated during the zombie attack. They had shouted to meet where the acorn dropped on New Year's Eve. Who would show? Or would either make it? 4 Stars for this horribly sweet short story of love and hope. I received this book from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review.
