Lionel Acrux’s plan to use the Vega Twins to get the Fifth Element was successful. Now the Twins order has come forward. But with the Shadows being released the Twins, Orion and Darius have also been consumed. With the Shadows inside them they need to work together to not be consumed by them.
I was so hesitant in going to reading this book after the last one with the way that Tory irritated me. But I can say that if like me and you are able to over look her and really relax and enjoy the other characters then you will thoroughly enjoy this book, right up to the ending just to have your heart ripped out.
I am an emotional wreck. So many mixed emotions, but that last chapter absolutely destroyed me. There was sweet love mixed with heart ache and devastation all rolled up into one.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Orion, nope, nuh uh, not ok, hell NO! I am so not alright. Oh my heart, Darcy and Orion are just the bees knees. I LOVE these two, they deserve so much happiness and to be free to be together. But unfortunately everything is working against them. Firstly it’s the whole Teacher/student matter, then blackmailing issue and now this ending.... 😭
I just want to say I HATE Tory, I seriously can not stand her. She irritates me so fiercely!!! She is selfish, stubborn, reckless, nasty, mean and a total biatch. If it wasn’t for Darcy, Orion and the A.S.S group I would not have continued this series. At first I loved Tory, I thought her bada** attitude was great, she was strong and wouldn’t take crap from anyone, but now she is beyond reckless, stubborn and won’t listen. She thinks everyone is against her, and that she must take risks to get ahead. She won’t listen to reasoning.
Once again I’m left with the uncertainty in wether or not to continue this series. I want to know if that ending will be rectified and fixed so that Darcy and Orion can get their Divine Moment. Please, please, PLEASE let them. But then I am so furious with Tory after the Star Crossed moment. Now don’t get me wrong I know there is understandable reasoning behind the decision she made, but she felt it to. Why destroy something she wanted just to make Darius hurt.
I was so happy and over the moon with the Snowball fight scene. Everyone worked so well together, if only they are able to ignore their parents and make decisions for themselves everything would work out between the Heirs.
But I think Seth in need of another flee incident. That pr*ck is a piece of work. I can’t wait for Darcy to finally get her revenge.
So much happens in this book that will surprise you, destroy you and make you scream and shout, but it will be worth it in the end. I hope! 🤞 if there is anything I can say that will convince you to read this book as I was unsure myself at first, it’s this; things are starting to come together, there is still going to be hurdles and trouble but the character development and growth is great to see. Darcy and Orion own my heart, 4ever!!!
Then there were the two dramatic twists at the end. I had to go back & reread each one as i wasn't expecting them.
I'm not sure if I'll be buying the next in the series yet as although the bullying was understandable, now it's just kind of too much.
I loved the character development in this book. Even when the characters do something that infuriates me, it feels authentic to them and their growth.
I don't know what I'm going to do until book 5 is released!

This book left me emotionally exhausted, it is a rollercoster of emotions with laugh out loud and heart warming to the ending which is heart wrenching and devastating.
Like all books in the series, this book picks up where the last book ended.
So much happens in this book! the character developments cause you to question and revalue your opinions from the last books.
I was pleased to find out Diego wasnt evil and did not expect the reveal about his hat and his family, am looking forward to finding out what his order is.
Geraldine and max are hilareous, Darius and Tory give into the sexual tension and have some very hot sex moments but my favourite are Darcy and Orion. I love the development of their relationship and the bond that develops between Tory and Orion. One of the sweetest moments in the book is when Tory and Orion are bonding and you see how happy it makes Darcy.
Regarding the heirs this book will make you route for Darius, feel indifferent to Caleb and Max and hate Seth with a fire of a thousand suns. Seth is now irredeemable to me and I hope he gets his karma later for this.
This is also the first book which shows a test of the bond between Darcy and Tory and you will find yourself yelling at them to just talk! They also find out more about their parents when they are at the palace and it is in this book for the the first time you start to see them come into their own, to stop denying the throne and who they are.
Alongside all this is Gabriel, giving you teaser glimpses into his identity and into how it will play out in the dark fae series. You see a different, happier side to him and it makes you eager to find out what happens in his story with Orion and Elise.
Finally the ending. There is a divine moment here with Tory and Darius which shocked me completely. It seemed much too soon for them and it leaves you heartbroken though it is understandable. You understand why Tory made the decision she did but at the same time its such a final thing.
The very ending had me reeling, Orion bleeding out and dying in Darcys arms after saving clara who then drained him of blood. The authors certainly didnt pull any punches with the double whammy ending. It will leave you feeling emotionally drained and took me awhile to fully process everything that happened which is why I love this book. The way the authors suck you in is fantastic and I am even more excited for the next book to see how it all plays out.
OMD the ending.... whyyyy... whats going to happen next! the ending left lots of question marks... cant wait for the next. The whole book has been a roller-coaster.. one of my fav books from the series.. i liked that sisters were able to visit the SPOILER.. palace, i really liked how that part was written and would have loved them to be their longer.. END....
pre-ordered the next book... I dont know whats going to happen/what can happen in the next book, from that ending ahhhh.. :D
These twin sisters prove that who you are as a person is as much a result of nature versus nurture, they grew up in the same circumstances having the same home life experiences yet they are both very different people.
However in this particular period of the story the lies they tell each other and the truths they hide began to take a toll on their previously rock solid relationship and I didn't like it 1 little bit so I hope that is over and done with as they seemed to be heading back to a good place by the end of the book. Talking about the end of the book...…...what!...….the!...….f***! was that all about. I'm used to cliff hanger endings but both of those storylines combined didn't leaving me hanging off the cliff, they pushed me off it and now I'm in a freefall.
Caroline, Susanne I love you but I hate you, how could you do that to us, to the Vega's lol.
I have theories of top of theories about what is going to happen, with the twins, with the celestial heirs, with Orion, with Lionel, with Gabe and of course the Shadow Princess but only time will tell what the authors have in store for us. 1 thing I can guarantee it won't be a smooth ride.
In this book Max gets a bad case of Geraldine fever and who could blame him. She is exactly what he needs to keep him on his toes and make him work for her. Darius and Tory finally give into the sexual tension behind them for a great, steamy sex scene that literally makes you hot under the collar. And I love seeing Darcy and Orion's relationship develop.
On another note I hate Lionel! I hate Seth! Seth was becoming a nice guy in the last book and I loved his budding friendship with Darcy but now after what he does he is just irredeemable in my eyes now! And Lionel he is just the worst character I have ever read about and I sincerely hope he ideas a cruel and painfully death at the hands of our beautiful heroines.
This book is just one of a kind and everyone needs to read it despite the emotional turmoil that you are put through.
So glad I did, the book was AMAZING!
It's well written. There are POV from all the main characters so you really get to understand things from their side and end up liking (most) of them, even when they do crappy things.
There are many different elements of story going on in the book. You have the different romance stories between characters, some of which are hillarious (oh Grus!) some scorching hot screens and some which are absolutely heartbreaking. There's also more clues towards the mystery of the twins past and plenty of action! There are some laugh out loud parts with Washer and some of Tory's snipey comebacks- I must say I love Tory's assigned extracurricular activity, then there are the bits which leave you needing a bar of chocolate to get through the emotions. I just couldn't put it down!
Would definitely recommend this book, although be warned there is a massive heartbreaking cliffhanger! And you definitely need to start the series from the beginning and read in order. I'm already waiting for the next book and off to pre- order it now!
