1.0 out of 5 stars Incompatible with most Android devices! 27 September 2013

This is for Amazon Kindle fire (New Generation tablets only?) For a $2 game I would expect this to work on all Android based tablets. For the same price I can get the same game on Google Play which should have worked on all the Android devices that I own. Amazon says incompatible for original Kindle fire too? I hope this is a mistake done by developer or Amazon. If this is a marketing plot then nobody wins!

I cannot play this game on about 10 Android devices I own and hence zero stars! I hope Amazon fixes this soon and If it starts to work on my other Android tablets I own I will revise my rating accordingly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Game but cannot upgrade 19 October 2013

Great Pinball game but the latest three tables cannot be bought. It gives a notice that the latest patch must be applied. WHAT PATCH? The game updated to show the three new tables to be purchased so they should have included the PATCH in it. I would give a 5 star rating if fixed. P.S. These tables can be purchased in the Zen Pinball game with no problem but the Star Wars game version has additional features above just the tables in the Zen version.

Now that the game has finally been updated I can buy the tables and they are all great. If your Kindle does not automatically update the program - go to the App Store and do a search for this game and when it appears it will say update instead of open.

3.0 out of 5 stars Actual game is cool but the app wants a lot of your money. 9 May 2014

When you first open the game it wants you to sign into "Swarm", I have no idea what that is. When you finally get to pick your table something is very noticeable. You really only have the option of choosing 1 table because all the other ones cost money! It's hard to give this game a review because on one hand the actual game is pretty cool but on the other hand everything costs extra money and it wants you to sign into all these different social sites.

Why I like this game:
-Just like a pinball machine in the arcade. I used to go to the arcades a lot as a child and this game reminds me of the actual pinball machines that were in there. Most pinball video games aren't realistic and are too cartooony but this one feels more real.
-Takes actual skill. Just like in the arcade you need to actually aim the ball with the flippers. You need to "collect" letters, go up certain chutes, hit certain droids etc. It plays like an actual pinball machine.
-Added Star Wars' "special effects". After all this is a video game so of course some things are going to be added. The coolest thing is the lightsaber chute where the ball is shot out of the lightsaber. Also is you collect the right letters Vader will appear... that's always fun.
-The scoreboard is the one you see on the pinball machines in the arcade. It's that black and orange old school scoreboard, you know the one I'm talking about.

Why I don't like this game:
-Sometimes it's super slow at going to the next screen when adding your points up.
-If you want more tables or extra things it will cost you... REAL money!
-It wants you to sign into various social sites.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kind of a rip - Only 1 table rest are $1.99 in app purchase. 5 May 2014

Celebrate your favorite characters with four brand new pinball tables including Han Solo, Star WarsTM Pinball: DroidsTM, Star WarsTM Pinball: Episode IV A New Hope, and a table dedicated to the Masters of the Force.

Yes it does but you have to pay for them.
You get just one table to play the rest you have to pay to play.
Each table is $1.99 there are a total of 9 tables that you could buy, making this a $17.91 game if you wanted all the tables.
There are 2 more empty tables.

I think in the description it should be a little more clear that you get only 1 table.
The initial Star Wars Pinball download comes with the Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back table.
That does not mean to me just 1 table, to me it means just one theme in a 6 movie franchise.
Does not matter if you chose the light or dark side you get just one table.
I would had been a little more happy if there was 1 light and 1 dark theme table.

Lost 1 star for vagueness about how many tables and another because there are not dark and light theme tables.

EDITED 10/11/14
Granted it took them from when I reviewed this back in May (I think) until now but their reminder made me go back and check. There have been a couple of updates to the HDX since this game and whatever issues those covered (or any updates that the game has had since), it appears to have "fixed" the problem. It is now running fine and is great fun to play. Great if you love pinball (me), but also cool to have if you love Star Wars (me) so now it is a win-win situation.

So although it took them a while to get back to me, if it wasn't for the response to this review, it'd still be sitting in the cloud gathering dust and now I'm getting to play.

Thanks to the dev for responding to this so I was able to remember to check it out and see that it's working good now.

Original review

But I can't even get the game to play. It seemed to install ok but every time I hit the play button it just opens the options menu.

Bummer cuz it looks and sounds great. If they ever get it to work right then I'll probably jump up to at least a 3 possibly a 4 or 5 because I love pinball games.

Trying to play on a first gen Kindle Fire HDX 7 inch
