Product Description

*A sizzling friends-to-lovers romance from a USA TODAY BESTSELLING Author*
*This book is a standalone. Each book in The Bennett Family series will follow a different couple.*

Max Bennett is a successful man. His analytical mind has taken his family’s company to the next level. Outside the office, Max transforms from the serious business man into someone who is carefree and fun. He’s happy with his life and doesn’t intend to change it, even though his mother keeps asking for more grandchildren. Max loves being an uncle, and plans to spoil his nieces rotten.

But when a chance encounter reunites him with Emilia, his childhood best friend, he starts questioning everything. The girl he once knew has grown into a sensual woman with a smile he can’t get out of his mind.

Taking care of her sick grandmother, Emilia Campbell has a lot on her plate. Still, she faces everything with a positive attitude. When the childhood friend she hero-worshipped steps into her physical therapy clinic, she is over the moon. Max is every bit the troublemaker she remembers, only now he has a body to drool over and a smile to melt her panties. Not that she intends to do the former, or let the latter happen.

They are both determined not to cross the boundaries of friendship…at first. But as they spend more time together, they form an undeniable bond and their flirty banter spirals out of control.

Max knows Emilia is off-limits, but that only makes her more tempting. Besides, Max was never one to back away from a challenge.

When their chemistry becomes too much to resist and they inevitably give in to temptation, will they risk losing their friendship or will Max and Emilia find true love?

*This read is recommended for ages 18+ due to mature content.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series and the Bennett family.
Max and Emilia were best friends as kids until she moved away with her Grams. Moving forward fifteen years, we see the two of them reconnect but not in the way they were before. No, this time, they are both adults with adult feelings and hormones.
I loved the way the story was told. Being that they were childhood friends, we got to hear some of the escapades of the younger Bennetts when Emilia and Max started reminiscing about when they were kids.
I also loved catching up with the paired-off Bennetts from the previous books.
Can't wait to see who is up next.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a book! What a series!! 19 November 2016

I have long been a fan of stories that follow a family one book per person. While the reason for reading this series was because I loved her "Lost " series but once I started this one I was hooked!!

Layla is a great writer. She knows how to keep her readers interested in her stories and this series on the Bennett family is by far her best.

I'm so glad the family is large and so look forward to book 5!

Good job Ms Hagan. I strongly recommend this series!

**4.5 stars**

I was so excited to Max's book, I love the Bennett family. I love how different each of the siblings are and that their stories are each different. Layla did a great job at Max's story and I loved how it was told.

Max, oh the hot negotiator brother for Bennett Enterprises. After moving back to San Francisco from London, he wasn't looking for love, wasn't looking his old childhood best friend, nor was he looking for a physical therapist. Lucky for him, he found all 3 in 1, Emilia. I think Max is my favorite Bennett brother out of them so far. He had this side of him I wasn't prepared for. He was so caring and protective. He was protective of Emilia at age 9 and he is even more protective of her now.

Emilia is so sweet. She has her plate full and isn't looking for any type of relationship. She's had her Grams as her family for her entire life, so when she becomes the primary caregiver for her, life gets crazy. Working as a physical therapist provides a decent income, what she wasn't prepared for was Max Bennett as her patient. Being face to face with adult Max is different than 9 year old Max. Watching her trying to resist him was fun.

I loved watching these two fall in love and admitting it. Their story was sweet and fit them. I'm always a sucker for friends to lovers and this one didn't disappoint me at all. The secondary characters were just was good. We see more of Alice and Christopher compared to the other books.

I can't decide which sibling I want next, I think it'll be Christopher but Alice intrigues me so much! I'm excited for the next one. Bring me more Bennett's!

This series can't be missed.
Just when you think the next book can't possibly be as good, guess what?
You'll be saying the same after each book and be so sorry that the last book is no more.
There's nothing I can add to the reviews already given Read the reviews and then read Layla Hagen's "The Bennett Family" books
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Friends to Lover's Romance.. 13 July 2017

I love this series! I stumbled across this author and fell in love with Sebastian's book and it hasn't changed since! Each book has a great element of family and a wonderful story. Max and Emilia's book is a sweet friends to lovers romance. I love that they were best friends as children and that even though they lost touch, picked up where they left off like time hadn't passed. Emilia has some abandonment issues and Max is so patient and perfect for her. I like that these books also don't usually have some super dramatic scene where someone messes something up and the main characters split up or have a falling out. She adds enough drama in other ways to keep it interesting. Max and Emilia's story is very realistic and it makes it all the more fantastic because it's so relatable. I also love this series because I know there will be more Bennett's to read about! She drops enough hints about the other siblings to keep you interested for the next book. I personally can't wait to read about Alice. 5 stars all the way - you won't be disappointed. I have a new favorite author for sure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good 11 July 2017

This one was just pretty good for me, I'm not sure why it didn't work for me, but something felt forced about this book. There wasn't as much of the Bennett family, maybe that's it. Max was a pretty good character, he seemed a bit intense at times;and not in a sexy WAY. Emilia was a decent character, she felt very scattered. It was very difficult to get a good read on her, but that could have been because she had a crap ton of responsibilities and was not great about accepting help. I liked them together and I'm interested in seeing what happens next in this family.
