I am a big fan of David Jackson so I was delighted to see there was a new instalment in the DS Nathan Cody series.
Sara returns from Copenhagen to find a strange message from her estranged husband. When she gets to his flat, she finds him murdered. Although DS Cody is on the case, Sara finds some clues and searches for her husbands killer. While Cody is investigating the case, his mind isn’t where it should be. He is still getting phone calls, his boss is making him see a psychiatrist and to top it off, Waldo (the clown) is still causing him problems.
I was not disappointed with this latest book in the series. I could feel the intensity and fear in abundance throughout this story. Reading about Waldo playing more of his mind games on Cody, made me gasp out loud! I couldn’t not read this book into the silly hours of the morning!
David Jackson has excelled in this chilling and twisted thriller.

Worth a look

I have really enjoyed the previous 2 books by this author but this 3rd offering was somewhat missing the mark for me. It felt as if is was written just to prolong the episode with the “ clowns “ it’s time that this moved on now because surely it can be taken only so far. Otherwise it was an exciting read and very very well written.

A dark and thrilling rollercoaster which will keep you up all night!

I loved this latest book in the Nathan Cody series! I would recommend you read them in order as the books do have an ongoing story running through them. This book more than the others focuses on that story, and we see a lot more from Waldo, Nathan Cody’s nemesis, who is nearly as evil as Stephen King’s It, except this clown is flesh and blood. I loved Sara Prior, the woman trying to find out why her husband was killed in such a brutal fashion. It was great to see such a strong and formidable woman taking on some particularly nasty enemies, while Cody is drawn into the nightmare world of Waldo’s mind games. Highly recommended and I can’t wait for the next instalment!

Where's Waldo!

Nathan Cody is suffering ptsd but doesn't want to accept help! He gets help though from the very man who caused his pain. 'Waldo' wants Cody around to torment. This book mainly centres on this torment and the realisation that Waldo hasn't finished with Cody yet! Can wait for the next book!

Ive loved all of them, but this is the best DS Cody yet. I also like that it’s left open to another encounter with Waldo the clown a bit further down the line. Keep them coming David, I can’t wait for the next instalment.
