Product Description

Blood is thicker than water…

Having endured more than their share of tragedy, sisters Lily and Sasha embark on a dream holiday—only to find themselves in hell. Kidnapped by a rich madman, Sasha is sold into slavery, while Lily is forced to join The Collection, a unique bevy of exotic beauties enduring frequent horrors at the hands of elite bidders. However, no amount of pain and suffering will break Lily, who will stop at nothing to save her younger sister. Possibly with help from an unlikely ally.

Love is stronger than loyalty…

Attempting to prove his allegiance to his employer, Jake is tasked with guarding the unruly and uncontrollable Lily. He can’t afford to help her in her quest to free Sasha—not if he hopes to fulfill his own agenda. But in their dark, gritty, tension-filled world, solace is taken wherever it’s found. Bonds are formed and hearts engage despite Jake’s resistance and both their attempts at self-preservation.

When certain secrets come to light, the resulting explosion has breathtakingly bittersweet consequences that, by the end, may not leave everyone whole…or alive.

You Loved Me At My Darkest is a beautiful albeit devastating story. At numerous times my heart was close to breaking. However, the author also manages to gradually repair the devastation her characters experience in the tension-fuelled events filtered throughout this amazing read.

The world Evie Harper created is very clear with fabulous visuals, so much so, I believed every word. This book deals with some pretty awful harsh realities. I believe Evie Harper executed her story and the situations her characters found themselves in extraordinarily well. The narrative she weaves around her strong, vivid characters was powerful and developed effortlessly.

A moving, gripping story. Stunning.

I like to support fellow Aussies. This brought up the issue of the horrific trade of female slaves for sex etc. while it touched on the issue we weren't subjected to a lot of the graphic torture of these women & girls thankfully. It was implied just how desensitised these women become.

Lily & Jake what a pairing. The chemistry was off the charts, while being her guard he also became her protector. You learn who he really is later into the tale & what he is doing. I sort of guessed something but wasn't entirely sure. I enjoyed it, well written. It made me sick thinking of those rich depraved men & maybe women & how they could kidnap or participate in this behaviour.

Something to think about.

This book touched me so much. I know I would have done the samething if this was to happened to me, I felt every heart break that Lil went throught with the lost of her younger sister Sash, it's a very intriguing story, had me on the edge of my seat. I cried so much for her lost and for what she gained at the end. Definitely recommend everyone to read this.... Congratulations Evie for a job well done

OMG this is one of those rare gem books you stumble across now and again and boy was this a find!!

The penmanship from this author is phenomenal. The use of language she uses to paint the scene in your head is second to none, she literally uses your mind as a canvas and sets about etching her written world onto your brain!! Then I discover that this was the debut novel from Ms Harper ....wait , what !? A debut novel this outstanding? Wow well this was my first Evie Harper book but you can be rest assured it will not be the last.

This story will grab hold of your head and make you pay attention right from page one. It will reach in to your chest and strangle, twist and pull at your heart. It will hit you with blow after blow of pure emotion and it will grasp your eyes to pull tear after tear out of you .....and you will love it. If your anything like me then prepare for a book hangover to shroud you.

The story follows the bond, friendship and love of two sisters that find themselves in the midst of a nightmare! Both stolen from the street they are captives destined for the human trafficking world of sex slaves. Although the subject is harrowing the author does an amazing job of delivering the story in a way that is sensitive and needed to the plot.

I found the entire book gripping and mysterious from start to finish I literally couldn't put it down.
Bravo Ms Harper, I applaud your talent.

When I started the book I felt it was going to be really interesting if, maybe, a little hard to read at times. I enjoyed it up until the time the 'romance' started which was just too full on and unbelievable as far as I was concerned. I know others will disagree with me. I did finish the book but the 'hot' romance was a little silly for me and I would have rather some other storyline regarding the rescue of the poor girls. If you like some drama with lots of 'romance', then this is for you I guess.
