I was a bit apprehensive about buying something like an exercise bike online, not being able to try it first, so was cautious in my research. Being nominated #1 by the Australian Choice Consumer Group in 2017 definitely influenced my decision. (And the York C410 also had the #2 rating). It did seem like a lot to pay for a first exercise bike - but with hindsight its well worth spending more than for the entry-level multitude of cheapies - this one seems to be in the sweet spot for mid-range bikes.
I am really very happy with this bike! It feels solid, has a lot of preset programs which I am working through. Its adjustable and comfortable to use by others in the household. Its quiet and smoothly increases/ decreases resistance for the program.
Despite my research, there were a few things that were unclear to me at the time I ordered. The screen is not coloured, eg with yellow bars as it appears in some photos. Its white text/ graphics on blue backlit background - which I think works very well. It does have a water bottle holder (one review said it didn't).
Also, it appears to keep your user settings (age/ weight/ height etc) when disconnected from power - great!
What would I change?
1) The owners manual ... all tools are provided in the box and assembly isn't that difficult but the instructions could be clearer. I also found the "Console Instructional" section might benefit from some review/ rewrite. This may be because I am not an experienced gym junkie - easily worked it out though by trial and error. (You can find the Owners Manual online quite easily)
2) Warranty is lifetime on frame and only 1 year on parts. At the moment I can't see why this would be the case. Perhaps this is the accepted industry standard? (Spares do appear to be available though.)
Finally, I paid A$489.30 + $40.00 shipping from Sportsmans Warehouse. Amazingly it arrived in just a few days, despite ordering on Boxing Day.
High quality components with exceptional attention to detail would be the best description for the award-winning C415 Exercise Bike from York.
