The beginning of the book retells the ending of Wray's book and is a good lead in to the joining of the newly announced Lord Ynyr with Abby Jamieson, an abductee from Earth. The story could be read as a standalone but to get the background on other characters you should read previous books.
I think what I enjoy with these books is how an event is told from the point of view of every person involved, as the event unfolds. There are deep insights into characters and lots of life lessons to be learnt as these lovers strive to overcome the damage done by the evil Lord Bertos and Lady Risa. Great characters, interesting story, a truly hea. Recommended.
My triivial complaints are that I really don't like the cover or the name ... how does one say Ynyr? Lol

Michelle Eidem has come far since first publishing Grim. The editing was very good until about halfway through when things deteriorated somewhat. I thought about taking 1/2 a star off but it wasn't bad enough for that.
However, Michelle's books always have a good story to support them.
This is Ynyr & Abby' s story. A young couple from totally different cultures, thrust together to rebuild a devastated community. They have to overcome misunderstandings between themselves and those around them.
Difficult as it is for them it is just as difficult for people in our world who are from different cultures.
The only reservation I have is that some parts of the story are too similar to Grim.
The Catch 22 in this series is, of course, the sad point that the Tornians are in big trouble unless they continue to obtain more women from Earth - they can't just keep abducting them!
It will be interesting to see how M.E. deals with this.
Recommended to anyone who likes this genre.

Love this series can’t wait for it to continue.
Possible spoiler
Think sometimes Ull gets it a little harsh cos he says what people thought before, and once they hear it aloud they realise how butt-head ish it sounds... but they never say ‘that’s what I used to think’ or anything they just rip into him...

The story keeps unfolding and I find I'm unable to put it down. I am loving this writer! Can't wait to read the next in the series of Tornians Series. A definite addition to your reading library if you are into Hot Alien Bodies, unique females, romance and great storylines.

Love M.K Eidem! Was put onto this author by another avid scifi romance reader and fell in love. My only problem is that I read faster than she writes! I enjoyed every book that she has written and really hope that there are more to come. Please keep writing! You have a massive fan here.

Absolutely loved this book. I didn't read Wray due to some of the reviews that said it repeated itself so much from book 1, but this one was its own story in itself though you still had some of the old characters In it. Would recommend this book if you loved Grim!

I have absolutely fallen in love with this universe. MK Eidem has done it again and added to the universe focussing on another piece of the puzzle. Her writing style, her consistency, her nuances are brilliant. Her books are read and re-read constantly. They are worth every cent paid for them. I would highly recommend her books. Once you read them, you will know the joy i have. I cant wait until the next book is ready. MK Eidem, you have done it again.

I am entranced by the Tornian world, the blending of two cultures, one quite strict in its beliefs, and of two people from those cultures trying to find their middle ground... Keep writing please.

In the aftermath of the attempted attack on Emperor Wray at the Joining ceremony and the naming of two new Lords, a young woman, Abigail Jamison had spoken to but never seen the warrior who tried to comfort her as she worried about what would happen to her and the other human females taken from Earth.
Ynyr Rigel, third of four sons of Lord Oryon Rigel of Betelgeuse had fallen for the voice of a young female as they spoke about them lives. When Abby chooses him in a ceremony of mixed human and Tornian traditions, he is proud.
Reluctant at first to take Abby with him while the begins to establish his House, Ynyr changes his mind as he hopes that with her there, it would indicate a new beginning. Many more troubles appear before all becomes clear and the truth about both their ancestors is revealed and all ends well.

I truly love this authors imagination, yes people are moaning about the editing, but from my experience of reading books over the last 30yrs, you don't really notice it and if you do, well you probably would of found something else to grip about, i mostly forget to give any reviews, the fact that i remembered to do so, should probably prove to you that i love this and all the rest of her books, (which i went and downloaded half way through this one)
i would love to be able to write a book but i don't have the nerve, or the imagination and for some people to try to shoot down a fantastic writer like this makes me so mad, get a life, if you don't like something you don't have to tear it to shreds, just don't buy another of her books, i'm not going into detail about any of the books because i don't want to ruin it for anyone, lets just say if like me, you love SE Smiths books. you'll love MK Eidem, i'm going to post this to all the book I've bought of MK Eidem, because this applies to all of them, and Ms Eidem if you are reading this please write Barek's book next i absolutely love the imperials... if anyone wants to moan about my review go ahead i don't give a toss....

Love Paranormal Alfa Romance?

Ynyr is an Alfa male and Warrior, with the shortage of women on his planet, he had always thought he would be alone, that all changed with the arrival of the females from Earth.
Abby's life had not been an easy one, especially after she was abducted by the Tornians, but she is a fighter and finds the one man she can fall in love with - Ynyr.
Ynyr and Abby had come together in the most romantic of ways, this is the story about their finding each other and their unique relationship. Together they build a House that had been destroyed by deceit and evil and turn it into what it needed to be. Secrets will out. Will it make them stronger?

Loved it but please proof read!!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 March 2015Verified Purchase
I love the Tornians series, and Ynyr kept me gripped from start to finish. Ynyr isn't the strong, physical warrior type like Wray and Grim (I did miss this), he's more of the strong, intellectual warrior which was a great change of pace. It was great to uncover more about the Godess and Daco sub-plot but without making it a waiting game where you know the end. The story followed pretty much the same flow as the lest two books, but why change what works. My only issue was the proof reading; mixed up names and wrongly used words meant sometimes I has to re-read bits just to make sense. Iron those out and I'd happily give it 5 stars, even though I'm still in love with Grim.

Another fantastic read!

I'm so happy with this book! It had everything I've come to expect from an M.K. Eidem book. It was intense, passionate and addicting. I loved how Abby came into her own and embraced her new life without forgetting the one she left behind. Also, Ynyr was such a strong character. His unwavering love and loyalty towards Abby was a pleasure to read. Looking forward to Ull's story. Hope this isn't the last we hear of Ynyr and Abby along with Grim and Lisa. Highly recommend.
