5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent western but book not bound well

Crigger writes westerns the way I want them written! My first read was found at the local public library, "The Woman Who Built A Bridge", and I was hooked! She has strong female leads but she doesn't slight the male supporting-role either. Generally only a "hint" of romance - perfect! Great stories and the characters are developed well - in this one, (eventually you learn that a Yeggman is a safe-cracker-sort-of-burglar) a young woman has been trained by her Uncle to pick locks, open safes and more. She's smarter than she realizes but lands in a bit of trouble when the latest job uncovers those that hired them as being the real thieves. Across the wilds of Montana she runs with an unlikely hero who has some secrets too. Great read!

But the book was bound poorly. This one has more pages (and the font slightly larger, thus making it thicker, which having the font larger is NOT a bad thing as I will pass this onto a cousin who likes larger print). The binding is loose at the upper left corner on 12 pages -- meaning, they'll eventually start coming out if this book gets passed around anymore (which I was sort of hoping that it would as my cousin lives in a retirement village and their library is always looking for good reads).

This edition was printed in Coppell, TX (photo of that with date and barcode included). The other book I purchased, "Letter of the Law" (good as well, a very "solid" western story) was printed in Columbia, SC, and bound very well. But it was a slimmer book.
