An Enchanting Page TurnerReviewed in the United States on 10 August 2019
A young woman, trained by her safe-cracking uncle, attempts a job that seems harmless, retrieving papers accidentally put in a wrong safe. She uncovers a nasty plot by dastardly villains, and the chase is on. Since it is the turn of the century, the heroine and hero use horses and a motorcycle to make their getaways, which adds to the excitement. By using the locksmith skills her somewhat dubious uncle taught her, and her own bold courage, the heroine is able to escape the traps she’s caught in. Throw in some really villainous villains (the bad guys are very well drawn), and an engaging tale unfolds.

The best just gets betterReviewed in the United States on 19 October 2020
After reading several books by this author I am truly sure you will be a fan. This story is nothing but mystery and excitement from the first to last word. I do hope to find a series in this story line. Hix and Willie area perfect match to build from. I love the time period with the introduction of the means of transportation. You must not pass this one up.
Solid writingReviewed in the United States on 20 December 2019
C.K.Crigger is an excellent storyteller, and she has created a protagonist worthy of a series. Wilkie Van Slyke is a master safecracker and lockpicker, a talent that gets her into a world of trouble when she tries to right a wrong against shady lawyers. The writing is solid, and the story kept me turning the pages.
I really enjoyed this story with a very different twistReviewed in the United States on 6 November 2019
A story about a safe cracker and his young assistant. Then the story changes to be about the assistant and a man trying to help her get out of town. I really liked this story, it was very different from the normal old west story.
