4.0 out of 5 starsWorks great but no Australian plug or adapter

Great product, works as a chrome cast, works with google home. Smooth playback. Main issue is that it doesn't have an Australian/Chinese plug or an adapter (which it says it comes with one in the description). Plug costs $25 which puts the total price way up.
Item is supplied with a UK power adapter (round pins). IT IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL TO SELL SOMETHING IN AUSTRALIA THAT DOES NOT HAVE ELECTRICAL APPROVAL OR IS COMPLIANT. Out of desperation I went to Officeworks and bought a UK to AU adapter (although this also did not work and there's still no power to the unit). Will be contacting Energysafe Victoria. I'm shocked that Amazon would risk their reputation by supplying such an electrical device that has no Australian electrical approval. BUYER BEWARE.
The box is a tidy design and the interface is easy to use. It came with a UK plug, HDMI cable and remote with voice assist which is useful. I bought it as a replacement for an older android box as I wanted access to Netflix at a higher resolution, in addition to all the usual UK TV apps (BBC iplayer, itv hub, UKTV play, My5) I figured this box would be a good option as it is an official android OS and is netflix certified. Unfortunately when in google play, all of the UK TV apps I wanted to add, were not available for download. On closer inspection on my google play account (accessed via PC) the Mi Box S is incompatible with these apps "This app is compatible with some of your devices.". The device is ok if you don't mind figuring out a work around and sideload via USB stick however I just wanted something I could plug and play most apps via a legitimate source. This isn't it. It does have chromecast so it could be useful in that way, but for the price it is, it's not worth it in my opinion. Returning for a refund.
I bought this to replace a cheap Android set top box. It's nicely made, functions OK for what it does, but the app selection makes it practically useless for UK use. No BBC iPlayer. No Freeview. Only part compatible with an Air Mouse remote (will not accept Enter or 'mouse clicks' - remote works perfectly on everything else) - have to keep switching to Xiaomi remote, which defeats the object.
It's so close to being a reasonable alternative to the Nvidia Shield, but so so far away because of the above.
I know I could sideload apps, but this just shows how useless Android TV is at the moment, and I'm an avid fan of all things Google.
Just wanted it for a Kodi box, to add a hard drive and go For this I found it wanting Meta data took too long to load and adding and scanning a larger hard drive took hours Can't comment on any streaming performance
