A sexy new M/M romance from New York Times Bestselling author Tessa Bailey

Milo Bautista just came out to his wealthy, ultra-confident boss, a man he secretly respects and admires…in more ways than he’ll admit. Ok shock for me - I didn't read the blurb and just auto-bought this as I do all of Tessa Bailey's books - oh my ! M/M is new for me.... so it was quite a shock. That being said Wound Tight is classic Tessa Bailey in every way - the dirty talking, chemistry fueled intensity and steamy scenes galore - the only difference is this time she's venturing into M/M territory. With this final book Tessa Bailey closes the door on the Made in Jersey series which is a shame as it's an awesome series. Our two leading men - Renner and Milo are polar opposites but equally alpha in their own way.
Renner is a brusque, grumpy dude with a lurking softer side. Milo had previously been with only women and had zero experience with men, yet never questioned if Renner was the one - which I found astounding. So once I got over my shock I did enjoy these guys together; there were some nice emotional moments amongst the flirting, tension and passion as they work out how they fit together. It was a fun read but you definitely need to have read previous books in the series for context. 3.5 stars

HOLY SHIZZ – Tessa Bailey knocked it out of the park with Wound Tight. While this might be Bailey’s first foray into M/M romance, there is no doubt that she brings her unique brand of sexy characters, sexy times and sexy storylines to this, the final chapter in her Made in Jersey series. To say that I am sad to the end of this amazing group of friends in an understatement, but Tessa Bailey sends this series out with a BANG with arguably my most favourite book in the series.

I FLOVE when a misunderstood character, one that has been marked as villainous-like in previous books, is brought to the forefront. The intricate ways in which their underlying character is revealed through finding LOVE with the ONE always keeps me captivated and that is exactly what you get with Renner Bastion. I was so not expecting how much I would fall for Renner with his gruff personality that hid his inner turmoil and loving nature. Sure he is ALPHA through and through, but the way in which he opens up throughout the book – as he becomes more comfortable – and takes a leap when he knows there is no safety net captivated me. I could not get enough of him.

And I don’t even know where to start with Milo. The interplay of assuredness and vulnerability when it came how to use his sexuality and discovering what it meant to be him is what kept me turning page after page. I was pulled in by the way that his confidence complimented what he wanted with Renner and break down Renner’s walls. I loved that he was the light to Renner's dark. It was easy to see why anyone would fall in love with him with his easy-going nature, loyalty and pure magnetism. The way that he didn't let Renner hide is what made him an unreal character to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book. 6 December 2016
By Kindle Loving Mom - Published on

I love this book. It seems like I've been waiting for it forever, and it was so highly anticipated, since it was Tessa's very first M/M! Well, let me tell you, that all the anticipation was worth it!

Renner Bastion is the owner of the factory where pretty much everyone works in Hook, NJ. He's used to people not liking the boss, and he doesn't really care. He lives in Manhattan, but he typically goes from place to place all the time, checking on all his investments. He's been in Hook since the machinery explosion (from Book 3, Duke!), to oversee the construction that was required to fix things up, and he's still there. Why? A certain sexy security guard might have something to do with it!

Milo Bautista works security for the factory, but he's also appointed himself Renner's personal security guard. They argue, and pick at each other, but mostly Milo watches him in order to get more comfortable in his own skin, now that he's realized that he's gay, and Renner is as well. They come to an agreement about helping each other with some issues they are each having, and it ends up getting hotter than they planned!

The push and pull between these two was intense, and at times, maddening! But, it was so realistic, and I really loved their banter. They gave each other grief every chance they got, and it was mostly just a long, drawn out foreplay, which was so sexy, and fun! Their interactions throughout the story ranged from funny, to angry, to sexy, to heartbreaking, to sweet. I loved every minute of it! Milo was really a caretaker by nature, and Renner had never had anyone really take care of him before. He didn't even realize he needed it until Milo came along, and they fit together so unexpectedly well.

They both had some issues, and they both took turns screwing things up, but ultimately, they were so much better together than they could ever be on their own. And that is why Tessa's books are the best. She makes you fall for her characters, and want to smack them, and want them to be happy and in love. And all the while, she makes you feel like you're right there with them! Also, it has to be said, that some of my favorite parts of this book were the appearance of the other characters from books 2 & 3. Vaughn and Duke (and River and Samantha) are some of my favorite characters Tessa has written, and I love to see them happy and their lives continuing on. They were so great in their roles in this book, and were great friends to both Milo and Renner.

I really loved this entire Made in Jersey series. All those blue collar men were sexy, dirty-talking wonders, and I'll never forget them! I can't wait for whatever Tessa has next for us! *Swoon*

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm high on Renner and Milo's love story! 6 December 2016

I have just turned the last page in Tessa Bailey’s Wound Tight book. Her first M/M romance and what a brilliant first she has written! For me, this book has it all. The love, the angst, the sizzling hot sex and the happy ending.

This is an amazing love story, but it’s also the story of two men who both have a lot of confidence in their lives, but when it comes to the matter of the heart, they are both so unsure of themselves. It’s a book about believing in yourself and trusting others with your happiness.

Renner is a millionaire business owner, who works way too much. He has forgotten that there is a life outside work and he has closed himself off emotionally from other people.

Milo is a security guard, working for Renner. He has appointed himself as Renner’s personal guard, even though that’s not his job.

Milo and Renner are being drawn to each other, and the banter between them is just hilarious. Renner is doing what he can to keep up his façade of being an arrogant a** and Milo is giving him back as good as he gets. And this is where the two men get into trouble. You see; Renner is gay, and that’s not a secret to anyone. The thing is that Milo is just beginning to figure out that he is gay too and he has no clue of what to do about his attraction to a guy named Travis. Deep down, even though he won’t admit it to himself, he is really attracted to Renner. They end up striking a deal, where Milo is supposed to teach Renner to relax, and Renner is going to help Milo being more confident about his sexuality. Can you see where this is going?

I was really curious about this book, it being Mrs. Bailey’s first time as an M/M romance author. If I didn’t know it, I would never have guessed it. She wrote Renner and Milo’s story with so much confidence that she just blew me away.

Her characters are both very well developed, and I felt connected to both of them. She gave them just the right amount of angst for my liking, and I fell in love with both Renner and Milo.

The sex scenes were smoking hot. Mrs. Bailey gave me the perfect top and bottom, and the way she made the top, really alpha just made my day. She gave me a lot of sexy talking, and it was just so damn hot!

I salute you, Tessa Bailey! This was amazing. I’m still high on Renner and Milo, and I will not forget them any day soon. I really hope that this is not the last time you write M/M because you do it so so good.

Thank you to the author for this amazing advanced copy.
And if you're wondering; I loved this book so much that I had to buy a copy for myself!

3.0 out of 5 stars An Okay M/M Book 9 December 2016
By Carol (bookish_notes) - Published on

I was debating reviewing this book. Full disclosure, I have not read the other three books in this book universe and understood this could be read as a standalone book. For the most part, I didn’t really feel like I was losing out on any part of the story by jumping into this one first, but I might not have the emotional attachment to some of the side characters in this story who have been the main characters in previous books.

Wound Tight is about wealthy entrepreneur, Renner Bastion, who is attracted to the security guard working in his factory, Milo Bautista. Renner is a bit of a workaholic and Milo and Renner have developed a bit of a back-and-forth rapport where their relationship is nothing but Milo always giving Renner a hard time about his work. Milo comes out one day to Renner, admitting that he’s had feelings for men for a while. Milo is undoubtably attracted to Renner, but both men don’t confess their feelings to one another. Instead, Renner becomes a mentor, of sorts, to Milo in order to help him get with another guy.

So, first and foremost, I suppose, this book is a romance novel. And Tessa Bailey does a great job and writing super steamy sex scenes. But, there’s also some parts that make the scenes very…unsexy. The writing at some points is awkward to read and really threw me out of the story. The characters, from their “voices” while reading the chapters to their “voices” during the sex scenes just felt very out of character at times.

I understand that this is the author’s first time writing a M/M novel, but the story isn’t bad. It’s just…I wanted more from these story and there were so many parts of the story that could have been expanded upon. For instance, I’m not entirely sure I even understand what Renner’s job was if he was only working with the factory for a few months and then going back to Manhattan to work…another job? Was he a consultant? The CEO? I’m not sure I fully grasped the story or even felt emotionally invested in Renner’s backstory to understand why he put up his emotional barriers. Also, it becomes obvious that Renner is very wealthy. And it is obvious that Milo is bothered by the fact that he is in a different economic class from Renner. I was expecting something about this to come up, but it never really did. Milo had his insecurities about it all, but then that part of the story kind of dissolved and was never really addressed before the story ended. To me, it just felt like the story just kind of propelled itself from one sex scene to the next without any story to make me love the characters.

I think the ending is fine. It’s a HEA and it draws in characters from the previous books in a big happy epilogue. I don’t feel like I love this book, but I don’t hate it either. If you want a quick read with hot sex scenes, this is the book to read. Just don’t expect too much backstory to go with the characters, if that’s the sort type of book you’re looking for.

When I used to read M/F, I read and loved Tessa Bailey’s Line of Duty Series. I love her writing and her sexy scenes! When I found out she was writing a M/M, I wondered if she could do it successfully and still write it in TB style (HOT sex scenes and strong Alpha males).
When I started this book I went into it with certain expectations, I wanted her characters to be filthy and the story to be steamy. The first quarter of the book, I wasn’t sure I was going to find it worthy of her writing. I thought it was going to be another OK M/M book written by an exceptional M/F author. When I got to chapter seven, I was glad I didn’t give up, While it may not be quite in line with my favorite M/M books, it wasn’t one I will dismiss either. I would be happy to try another M/M book if she decides to write another.
WT tuned out to be very enjoyable. As with her M/F books, the writing is mesmerizing and Renner was a decent Alpha male

POV... third person

Standalone or series... part of a series but CAN be read as standalone (others in series are M/F)

Did it give me a hangover... slight

Would I recommend it... yes

Never read a Tessa Bailey book, but this one was suggested by Santino Hassell. Being the fan that I am, if Santino says a book is good, I'm inclined to listen. Glad I did! I have to be honest; I don't read much mainstream contemporary romance as it does nothing for me but I took a chance here and my time wasn't wasted.

Ms. Bailey's writing is surprisingly good (I said I don't read many mainstream contemporary romances, lol sue me). For Wound Tight to be her first foray into M/M romance, I think it she did a bang up job. It wasn't what I was used to, and I've read a lot of M/M romances, but somehow, I dug this. Wasn't thrilled with the names for her MCs (Renner and Milo?) Eh. But that was the worst thing about the story for me. There were some parts I didn't particularly enjoy (dialogue wise) but overall this was an enjoyable read. Renner was just the right amount of alpha without crossing over into turdhole territory.

Despite this being the fourth book in a series, I don't feel like I missed out on any important details. The epilogue was a little over the top sappy for me, but you know what? I gobbled that sucker right up. We all need a guilty pleasure once in awhile, and this book was mine. Can't say I will pick up books by this author in the future but this was definitely a job well done. If there are more M/M romances written by Ms. Bailey down the line, nix my previous statement!

4.5 fun stars.
