Product Description

It didn’t matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she’s been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it’s boring…and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle’s office and everything changes…for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

***Author's note*** THIS IS A STAND-ALONE NOVEL. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

I liked this story and the characters. Elle comes across as a strong woman, and Nico is hot - while also being a descent fella. Lacked a little something though.

Solid three and a half stars for me.

This is the first book I've read from this author. I did enjoy Worth the Fight but I will admit I struggled a bit at the beginning, I wasn't too sure I liked that h all that much. She did grow on me as the book progressed thankfully or the rating would have been much lower.
Nico was a hot, tattooed MMA fighter and Elle a lawyer and both characters had a tragic event in their past that they needed to overcome. I liked they had this in common but was a little frustrated when Nico's response was to shut Elle out and as soon as he snaps out of it, she takes him back.
The pace and writing style are fast and the epilogue was a bit like another chapter or short story, a continuous glimpse into their future and I loved it! I'll continue with the series as I'd like to see how Vinnie's story plays out.

Worth the Fight by Vi Keeland my 1st by this author is a great read. Both H & h are strong people dealing with very similar past issues. A HEA, no cheating & no cliffhanger.
I received a free copy of this eBook for my honest review.
I will definitely be reading more by Vi.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the Fight (MMA Fighter Series Book 1) 6 December 2016

Elle was in a ho hum relationship that didn’t seem to be going anywhere and then she meets Nico Hunter. Elle loves the way that Nico handle’s her and he is exciting. But, both Nico and Elle are broken. Elle thought she was better until something triggers it again. Of course I can’t say what. Nico also thought he was better. Nico is a MMA fighter. Elle is an attorney. And, the story goes on from there.

When I first saw that it was a MMA fighter story I was a little worried. You see I really dislike sports stories. The good news is that yes there are fights but, it is a story that is built around the sports.

I loved their story so much that I couldn’t put this book down even at work. Fortunately, it was a slow night for me and I got a lot of reading in.

I loved this story and I should have read it sooner. I have to apologize to this author. I evidently had received a copy of this ARC and it somehow got lost on my Kindle. I did buy this book to give it a verified review.

I give Worth the Fight 4.5 Stars

2.0 out of 5 stars I just didn't like it 15 November 2013

I don't know what it is about this book but it just didn't do it for me. The sex scenes are hot and steamy but that's probably all I care about. The chemistry between Nico and Elle is lacking. To me, there's no romance. I just see two people that are really attracted to each other sexually and having great sex along the way. The dialogue sucks big time. For one I don't like how the writer has Elle say what they talked about as opposed to actually reading the conversation. It'll go something like "We sat on the couch and cuddled while he told me stories of his brothers". I want to read the actual conversation and see how they respond to each other intellect or show some flirtatious banter between the characters. Also, I feel like some of the scenes were just cut off. It seem like the writer is in the middle of the scene and then it ends and we're back to Nico's chapter or Elle's chapter. Overall I like a good steamy love story but I like romance more. When you can see the romance between two characters you feel like they really love each other. It makes the sex scenes seem more realistic and more hot. Oh and lastly, the dirty talk was horrible. Nobody talks like that during sex or when they are about to have sex. I only got to about 50% before I decided I'm no longer interested. I don't usually give books a bad review but this one is a pass for me.

I've wanted to read this book for a long time, and finally got around to it. Sadly, I think it wasn't nearly as good as this author's recent books. The major thing that bothered me was the repetitiveness. The phrasing was so similar during every interaction that it almost felt like I was stuck in some crazy deja vu scenario. The romance was fairly sweet considering we were supposed to accept these were more closed off, strong characters. The instalove was also quite over the top. I never really felt the main characters had more than a superficial connection. I did like Nico. I thought he had some depth to his character that was unexpected, but I wanted more between him and Elle. I think the plotline had promise, but it just never really developed into anything that would convince me to keep reading the series or even the author if this had been the first book of hers I read. With the many MMA/fighter series out there, this just failed to measure up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good start to the series :) 22 April 2016

3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good story. I liked both Elle and Nico and their story was enjoyable without being overly drama-filled.

Elle is a lawyer at a small law firm that she's been working at since she interned there right out of college. She's happy with her job even though the guy she's dating, William, thinks she should move to a larger firm. William is everything Elle thinks she should want in a boyfriend but their relationship is more along the lines of friends with benefits. Unfortunately, Elle's become bored with the relationship and isn't very interested in the benefits any more.

Nico is a championship winning MMA fighter that is on a break from fighting. About a year before, Nico was in a fight and a hit accidentally killed Nico's opponent. Even though they found out the guy died because of a brain aneurysm and through no fault of Nico's, he hasn't been able to face going back in the ring. He still has some endorsement deals however and it's one of those deals that brings him to Elle.

William is a lawyer that has Nico as a client and brings him to Elle to consult about his case. She agrees to help them with the issue they're having but it's clear from the first meeting that there's an attraction between Elle and Nico. William seems oblivious though and Elle is left trying to figure out how to proceed. Nico comes back to see her and asks her out but makes sure she knows it's just for a platonic dinner until she figures out where things stand between her and William. the dinner goes great and although she's a bit stressed about it, Elle quickly ends up breaking things off with William so she can go out with Nico.

Once William is out of the way, Nico and Elle find that their relationship falls into place almost easily. They fit together well and things seem good between them. There are some issues to deal with though and most of those harken back to Nico's fight that went wrong and whether or not he'll go back to fighting. And if he does go back to fighting, how will he handle his first fight back in the ring. Overall, the story wasn't majorly dramatic but Nico having to deal with what happened in order to move on, does provide some drama that has to be dealt with. I felt bad for them both but I was happy that Elle and Nico managed to get past the issues to end the story with a well deserved HEA together.

This was a pretty enjoyable story. I liked both Elle and Nico and was happy with how things turned out. The road to that ending was a bit rough but I think the story was well written overall and I'd recommend this story. :)

* note - I listened to the audio version of this story and the narrator did a very good job.

The writing style flows so well that its literally over far to soon. I'm def. going to be buying more from Vi, she writes beautifully. Just freaking awesome.

I will say this now before I forget, I kinda felt bad for William. I only feel bad for the poor bastard because he wasn't that much of a villain or donkybutt. With that being said and out of the way. Lets move on to our main characters, shall we?

Nico, he's like this hot piece of man candy that even I, want to break off a piece of that. I'd seriously devour him if it was possible. He's lucky that my home-girl Elle can do that for me. He's like almost "the" perfect BB. Green eyes, dark hair, tall, handsome, fighter, built, tattoos and a romantic. I mean, come ON! All signs are pointing to go, collect $200's.
His issues and lack of willing to "deal" with them back fired on him, for me. That's the only true thing that I disliked about him. But then again if they hadn't happened, I'm not sure if he'd been real enough for my sassy taste buds.

Now for my amazing Heroine, Elle. Don't you just think Legally blonde and Reese Witherspoon? No, just me then?! Oh well. (Love that freaking movie btw.) Anyways, she's this strong lioness waiting in the prowl for her beast of a soul mate to come and pounce. She's one of those characters that you instantly fall in love with. You want to get to know her, be her friend, mom, daughter and sister. Elle's that all American girl next door type. But she has her secrets and is also reluctant to let her past go. When these two finally meet (Nico and Elle) the sparks fly. You can hear the bells chiming, see the fireworks popping and the chemistry thumping. Its all consuming.

18+ book, has some dark sides to it. Sex is a constant (its like holly hot mamma HELLo.) I'd recommend to anyone who loves a good Alpha male and a strong leading lady.... and anyone in general because its just that darn good!
