I really loved this YA fantasy, about Isika and her siblings who are raised in an oppressive Worker Village. When their little brother is chosen to be sacrificed to the sea, they escape the Village and start a long journey to get him back. It's an exciting adventure story, a "one true chosen" kind of story, and a chosen family story - I love all these things, and World Whisperer does the found family thing so well.
The whole vibe of World Whisperer (and the following books) are very Christian - there is a benevolent loving world creator, and an evil force fighting against that world creator - but it really appealed to me because of the way Isika connects with that world creator force through connecting with the earth, listening to the trees. It's very lyrical and lovely. In general - loved it, I'm going to read all the other books.
World Whisperer was just a great read. What interesting and different plot development. The main characters were so likeable and it's great to read a book with adventure and excitement that isn't soul-wrenching or filled with horror. I am very much looking forward to getting into the next book of the series.

A book which oozes originality. The author creates a new world for our imaginations to explore. Her characters are full of depth and goodness. I thought of this whole book as an allegory for our world and what it had been, what it is and what it could be. I will definitely be buying the next book!

Oh my. I'd devoured Path of Springs (World Whisperer vol 2), drawn in to Isika's joys and struggles and mystery and knew I had to back up and find out. Where did she come from? What did she know of herself? World Whisperer doesn't disappoint. I kept telling myself to slow down, to have more to read another day. But there. It's finished and I loved it. When can we have volume 3, please?
