Holy. Crap. My husband never reads. I bought him this book for Christmas because he is getting into woodworking. He reads it ALL. THE. TIME. It's very useful and covers everything from terminology to tool functions to what type of wood is best for a particular project to how to build furniture. Very conclusive, but easy to read, and lots of full color pictures for examples. A DEFINITE recommendation for any woodworkin' man or woman!
Woodwork: A Step-by-Step Photographic Guide to Successful Woodworking

I cannot see how I could start wood working, as a do it yourself, without this book. This is where you find many of the fundamentals of the wood working craft. Moreover, if you are a home owner, this book will save you thousands of dollars by maintaining your own home yourself with long lasting repairs, at costs close to the costs of materials plus your time, rather than hire "patch-up jobbers" at high prices and bad quality work who cut all the corners possible just not to work too hard.

This book came to me yesterday. I am really pleasantly surprised, it is very easy to read, very illustrative, very clear in their concepts. It's a book I can recommend to be included in every workshop.
