Filled with information, yet well explained and enjoyable.

This book is brilliant, It took ages to get here, but well worth the wait.
I haven't finished it as it's incredibly dense and so I'm enjoying reading small bits and digesting it, but I have found what i have read so far really fascinating and transformational. A breath of fresh air into my understanding of the Old Testament.

An outstanding read!

Dr Gafney brings the reader into the heart of Biblical texts from a critical womanist perspective. This work helped me to see how dominant the androcentric and patriarchal lens is in my reading of scripture. I am forever changed!

Brilliant book, highly recommend this to anyone

Brilliant book, highly recommend this to anyone, but particularly those learning to preach, as a tour de force in listening for the voices which get shouted down so often - those of the outcast, the stranger and the women.
