Product description

Product Description

Ghost, once known as the cub Luca, is finally home. Back among his kind and learning what it means to be both a man and a shaman, Ghost battles the expectations of his people, his family, and the pressures of a society that is both foreign and familiar. His power is greater than any seen before, dwarfing that of even the legendary Shaman Gray Shadow—and his union with Kane places him in the center of a controversy that rattles wolfkin society around the world.

Kane, greater alpha and Heir to Black Pine Clan, has finally defeated the traitor and murderer that destroyed the heart of Black Pine years before. Freed at last from guilt and pain, Kane has a new enemy to face: his own people. Placed on trial for violation of Law and blasphemy, Kane will have to fight to the death to preserve his bond with Ghost and keep his mate and people safe.

The soulbond between Ghost and Kane is forged by the creator and Goddess of the wolfkin. Usually, a sacred and treasured union that honors the pair and their clans, this soulbond is seen not as a gift, but a threat to eons of tradition and Clan Law.
The union of a Shaman and Alpha is anathema—but how to reconcile that belief when it is the wolfkin Goddess who forged it? Can Ghost and Kane save themselves, preserve their bond, and find a new future when the laws of the ancient past threaten to tear them apart?

Hellava series. Book 2 Wolf of the Northern Star- Wolfkin series. Both this and the first book were really good. The story line continues where we left off at end of book 1, with Kane is trouble for using his talents against another Alpha. Also, there is trouble brewing because he and Luca ( Ghost) fell in love against tradition ( where SHE who is great made it so Shamans and Alphas with the voice wouldn't fall in love) Both men now have to prove their love is soul-bound and not coerced by Kane for the bond not to be broken by other Clan's shamans. The story also revolves around Caius ongoing pain and suffering at losing Grey Shadow, Gerald, Sophie and Royrick fall into a menage love and Burke finds his soul-bound mate in Wren. Along the way Ghost, Kane and his crack team find the missing family members and set about foiling the plans of Roman and Simon Remus. The ending while complete is open for an additional book as not everything was neatly resolved. The series is better than most other paranormal shifter stories around, the back lore sufficient to entertain and not bog down.
I did have one complaint, thought I wont say what it was because it would give a spoiler, but I was a little disappointed that the ending was a tad to neat, other than that the book was really a delight to read. looking forward to book 3 if there is one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the wait! 16 June 2017

Worth the wait!!

There is so much going on in this book! The traitors from book one are being dealt with, Kane is being brought to trial for blasphemy, and Remus still has kidnapped wolfkin that need to be found. So much is happening, though, that I felt like Kane and Ghost's relationship wasn't as prominent as in the last book. Don't get me wrong, they're still the main couple in this book but there's just so much going on that their relationship kind of takes a back seat to the plot (which isn't necessarily a bad thing...after all, with the soulbond Ghost and Kane are pretty solid in their love for one another. And there's still plenty of sex to be had lol). Perhaps it's better to say that their bond isn't brand new so they aren't really learning one another anymore. It's more of a strong, unshakable connection now. It's not the frantic, whirlwind reunion of lovers but rather a fierce partnership that enables them to work together to get things done.

We get so many new relationships in this book that, I'll admit, I kind of squealed a bit in excitement. Some I called but mostly I was taken by surprise, happily so.

What really made this book great for me and broke my heart was Caius. Caius really stole the show for me in this book. We get some background into his past and his relationship with Gray Shadow. Caius is finally taking steps towards grieving for his losses 15 years ago (and even before then), and begins to understand how much he f**ked up with his family and his past decisions. His character development was such a joy to read and his scenes had me tearing up.

The world-building in this book is still solid and I continue to love the magic and Shamanic powers. Also, Andromeda is a badass who doesn't even need powers because she's just so awesome!

There are still some loose ends to take care of at the end of this book and I'm really looking forward to seeing how all the characters deal with the aftermath of Remus and everyone's new roles in the clan. Mostly I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone settles into their relationships! Can't wait for book three!

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG 18 June 2017

I finished this book at 2am in the morning on a work night. Completely useless the next day.
It was so wonderful that when I read the last page I stopped in panic and shrieked "Nooooooo" (no fears, it doesn't end on a cliff hanger) but seriously, I needed the next 50,000 pages right away! Kudos to an author for creating such an amazing world that I didn't want to leave it.
The book is well written, characters are well developed, it had suspense, angst, humor and joy. Read with kleenex and oreos. (You are going to read it in one sitting and will need a snack)

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read! 24 June 2017

So, I THOUGHT I loved book 1. This book? Gah. I don't think I want this series to end. Full of twists and turns, Wolf of the Northern Star far exceeded my expectations (which were already high). The story is so well written that not only am I in love with Kane and Ghost, I find that my heart is firmly attached to Wren, Gabe, Burke and Caius of all people! The plot is fascinating, complex and very well thought out. The ending left me with a Wookie cry face, but for a wonderful reason. I didn't see that coming, but God, it made me so happy. If I could give this more stars I would. And I've never said that before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome 20 June 2017

Well worth the wait. From uncertainty over the proof of their soul bond being accepted to a struggle to end the capture of and experimentation on their people, the MCs of Kane and Ghost have a long road ahead of them. Werekin politics, bloody torture, clones and terrible experimentation by humans are some of the action in the book. Heat level low. Great story and romance with some unique world building. I highly recommend these books. For those who love a good story, the other books by this author are also good reads.
