Product Description

Jo Mayweather has one mission – to save her fellow genies from those three little wishes. A supernatural killer has other ideas, and now she’s not sure if she can even save herself.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘Be careful what you wish for.’

In hindsight, Jo Mayweather should’ve taken those words seriously back in 1926. Of course, spoiled brat, flapper-girl that she was, Jo probably would’ve made the not-so-clever wish that turned her into a genie anyway.

Being endowed with phenomenal power may have its perks but, for the most part, life’s been a pain in her tiny hiney. After running into a ‘slash first, ask questions never’ genie, her problems only worsen. Some demented thing is making wishes that can’t be granted and djinn are dying. Now, instead of freeing her brethren from their bonds, Jo has a killer to neutralize.

If she’d kept her mouth shut ninety years ago, she wouldn’t be in this mess. But she’s got a job to do despite some reject from a bad B-movie trying to ruin everything she’s worked so hard for. Too bad this time doing her job might get her killed.

Or worse—enslaved again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genies And Their Enemy, Efreet. Great Fantasy Story 2 September 2015
By Linda - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I love this author. I hope there will be more of Jo and Zeke in other books. This is a fantasy about genies living among humans and doing good without human masters. Jo has taken on the job of freeing genies from their masters. The story is about a bad genie who has forsaken his basic genie rules and become an Efreet. There are many twists and turns as Jo aided by Zeke, her ex-lover, tries to find how Efreets come about. Obviously, many centuries before a war occurred. Since she is a young genie, she knows less than Zeke and his friends. Sometimes I,got tired of her whining about her past experiences but in the long run she is a strong female character and redeems herself. Good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Dream of Djinn 25 August 2015
By P. James - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Looking for something fresh, different, and all twisty in UF? This is the book. WISH IN ONE HAND is the first book in what I hope will be at least a trilogy by B.E. Sanderson. This Urban Fantasy is my catnip. Jo Mayweather is a Djinn. She was freed upon the death of her Master (who also married her) and has made it the mission of her immortal life to free other Djinns. Once a flighty, Roaring Twenties flapper, Jo is now a grounded, dedicated antique house owner and doer of good deeds.

This isn't "I Dream of Jeannie." Jo is smart, dedicated, and ready to sacrifice her own skin to save those of her friends. The author has created a complex set of magical rules for Djinn that adds delicious layers to a story and world already multi-faceted. I can't say enough good things about this book. I loved it, plain and simple. From Jo's dog, Major, to the crazy pirate, Mary, to the sexy Zeke, and the whole cast of characters of heroes and villains, this was a wild, imaginative ride that I can't wait to jump on for the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great voice and characterization in this fun 14 October 2015

Great voice and characterization in this fun, unique urban fantasy by B.E. Sanderson. The main character is strong-willed and snarky, which is right up my alley. I don't know a lot about djinn (genies), so this was really fun. It goes way beyond your basic three wishes to a complex society of djinn, a council that oversees them, an ancient war, and what happens if a djinn decides to break the rules that bind them. There's a great array of supporting characters, from Zeke, the powerful ex-boyfriend, to her British partner, to an old female pirate, to a dog who... well, I won't say. You'll just have to read to find out :) Recommended for fantasy lovers who like kickass characters and a fun, fast-paced read.
