Product description

Product Description

For Jo Mayweather, genie life is far from perfect, but it was finally beginning to settle down after the incident where she accidentally glassed over part of the Florida Panhandle. Her enemies have been quiet. The Djinn Council has left her alone. Her traitorous ex-lover has disappeared. Finally, she has time to figure out who’s behind the conspiracy to ruin her life. But setting her feet on that trail means discovering things from her past she’d rather not know, facing her parents in their newest incarnations, and getting a mission from the gods that she’s not sure she can complete. All in a day’s work, right? Sometimes Jo wishes she had a different occupation. Too bad wishes don’t work that way.

4.0 out of 5 stars A smart-mouthed genie and gods with a sick sense of humor! 8 October 2016

I love the Jo Mayweather character! I mean, who wouldn't like a genie character, but one with a smart mouth is even better. And gods with a sick sense of humor just add to the fun. Jo's adventures continue in this, the third book in the series. I have to admit I expected the series to end with this book, but the ending makes it obvious, it ain't over yet! I, for one, am glad.

I received an ARC from one of my favorite authors, and tonight I had a great read.
UP WISH CREEK, by B.E. Sanderson, is the latest in the Once Upon a Djinn series. It's fast-paced, surprising, funny, and exciting. I was sad to have it end -- I want MORE!
Definitely a 5 Star novel, and highly recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Say it ain't so, Jo! 18 September 2016

Have I mentioned that I love this series? Jo Mayweather is a kick-@$$ main character and my on-again/off-again love affair with Zeke, her former lover and often nemesis, keeps me reading each book way too long into the night. In this book, the war between the Djinn and the Efreet (sort of the anti-Djin) is heating up. Jo is at her snarky-goodness best and her gang of misfits are ready to do battle. Warning, there is a cliffhanger. Dang it. But that's okay. As much as I don't like them, this story was exciting and exhausting (I was in there swinging with Jo) and I'll wait with unbridled need for the next book!
