I was curious about the book as it was first read by a friend who suggested I might enjoy this. Not anything close to my favourite genre, but I decided to see why my friend enjoyed the book.
Well, as a person who has lost a child (to cancer) and as a person who has suffered from breast cancer and it’s allied treatment, I have found the book both poignant and funny. There were parts where I laughed out loud and other parts where I had a wry smile on my face.....and others where tears pricked the back of my eyelids.
I love the turn of phrase and the descriptions of people and places, I have not been to these places and I’ll never meet the characters, but they were SO real that I got to know them intimately.
I will now try to get a copy of The Keeper of Lost Things in the hope that it is as great as this book.
