This one is not sonically accurate (actually far away from it) but it has agile sound signature which I like as a fan of soft & hard rock and metal music genre and thriller movies. It produces a dynamic sound stage quite like wired JBL T110 (which was another surprise for me cause it was so cheap, only 14$ from officeworks). Volume can go very high as well. Sound quality is always subjective as u know. Someone else might not like what I liked. However, considering the price and that it is a Bluetooth true wireless earbud, I would recommend this product for 1. Sound quality (which I liked, don’t know about others) 2. Single operation (either left or right can be used). Touch controls are not very sophisticated though, or perhaps I still don’t know how many times I have to press for each individual function.
If I describe the sound signature of this earbud (comparing it to bookshelf speaker sound signature), I would say it sounds more like a forward sounding speaker
I haven’t used the more expensive Bluetooth earphones (over 60$), FYI
Treble is good; could be harsh for some people specially at high volume, but I liked it. Bass has quality punch/oomph. Very good for movies on Netflix. Some users complained about bass, perhaps the earphones did not fit their ear properly as it is essential to get a tight seal for getting good bass.
Some famous songs such as ‘Hotel California’ by the Eagles sounded good with very punchy bass and nice, clear treble and clear vocal. Bass is not overpowering nor boomy. Clearly not for bass heads. However, the bass has quality. Remake of ‘Hallowed be thy name’ by Cradle of filth sounded agile as well. The famous quick drumbeats were present there, so midbass is not bad either; and, it managed to produce the thrill in the song which is more important to me than what the specsheet says about a particular speaker or headphone. After all, (to me), it’s all about enjoying the song/movie, not about how accurate it is in reproduction of the audio.
This is my first week; haven’t charged it second time yet, so can’t say anything about battery life. So far, it seems that it has better battery life than all the others I mentioned. However, since it’s my first week, I could be wrong about my perception about this product.
I use it for running on treadmill and on the go. It has very good seal (passive noise canceling)
I still don’t know how to transfer the call on this thing, so, it can be a nuisance as sometimes when I receive the call from phone, the earphones don’t work. Perhaps, if I receive the call from any of the earphones then it works; I have to check that as sometimes I did talk via the earbuds. However, I didn’t notice how it worked. When I dialled a number while the earbuds were connected, there was no issue talking through the earbuds. I need to check how to transfer call from phone to this thing. I use it more for music and movies than call purposes. Call quality is good as well except for the issue I mentioned which is more like me being lazy to go through the manual than issue with the product itself :)
Btw, in terms of sound quality for cheap Bluetooth headphones (to me): Taotronics true wireless >anker soundbuds slim>Soundpeats Q30 plus>>Soundpeats true engine wireless >/=Soundpeats q30 Soundpeats models are very good as well as they have more bass and anker soundbud slim is vey good as well as it was only 30$. However, I like all of them because of their individual characteristics.
Within 60 aud$, it’s a great bargain.
Thanks for reading the long review :)
Sound quality for the most part is quite good, very full and enjoyable, nice clear bass. I find it can depend on what you’re listening too though, some more dense layered recordings can sound a bit mushed together, without much separation, and sometimes cymbals can sound quite thin and lofi (I don’t really notice this anymore now that I’m used to them though.
Build quality seems good. Plastic seems cheap and they don’t have a premium look or feel, but they seem solid enough. Wanna be careful with the hinge on the case though! The default silicon tips fit my ears very well. Comfortable and definitely won’t fall out, and block out more sound than I expected.
Pairing is fairly simple, however a few times I’ve put them in only to discover that only one of them is connected, which requires me to unpair and repair them. Fortunately this only takes about 30 seconds, but still annoying. Connection is stable, but I can’t go downstairs while leaving my phone upstairs, like I can with my other Bluetooth head/earphones, they will disconnect.
Battery seems pretty close to what is stated. I got over 4.5 hours at pretty reasonable volume, and they charge in the case pretty quickly. I haven’t used up a charge of the case yet, but at this rate I’d say the claims for that are accurate too.
Other annoyances are it can only pair with one device at a time, and the tiny less on each earphone are always pulsing when in use, so they are very noticeable in dark environments.
Overall, these won’t impress audiophiles, but are a very solid budget option, absolutely worth the AU$37 I paid, despite the flaws. With some improvements the sequel will be great!
Sound is great only if you have the earbuds on with larger caps on, otherwise you might find the music tinny or no bass.
Comfort could've been better if they were a tad smaller.
Bluetooth connection at times can be a pain, especially pairing both of them together. Restarted the phone and resetted the earbuds.
Battery life, I doubt it will reach those hours after a month or so of use. If you know how battery life is affected in the long run and discharge percentage. But ok if you are using for 1~2 hours and recharging.
