My CTS has sealed headlight units with little ventilation but heat buildup hasn’t been an issue, can update if something happens.
Had a small issue with one of the bulbs when it arrived. Seller was easy to communicate with and helped me out, was much appreciated.
I would not hesitate to buy again, or any other item in the seller’s store.
Lights worked great for 5 months then one of the headlights stopped working. I tested it with another cable thinking it was not correctly attached, but the other lights worked on the same socket. The LED just gave out, you can hear the fan go on every once in a while, but the light would not turn on. Just gave out. I have attempted to contact the seller/company as it says there is a two year warranty, company is somewhere in Asia, no 1-800 number or customer service number, sent an email to the seller, waiting for a response.
UPDATE: seller got back to me very quickly and promptly replaced with a new set of lights, I am very happy with this company and their customer service, raise the bar to five stars !
The light itself is super bright, and definitely on the blue end of the white spectrum. Road signs literally glow at night, and reflectors, well, really reflect. This came as a pack of two, and honestly was very close to the same price point as standard halogen bulbs.
Very happy so far, but I'm only two days in. So, any downsides? Not so far, just be aware that you may need to adjust the aiming of the lights, as the LED sources are in slightly different places as would be the case with the standard bulbs. Totally to be expected. The wiring may be a bit messy for the OCD group, but it tidied up enough for me... It's under the hood, so out of sight out of mind. The last thing... The blue/white of this generation of LED 'bulbs' isn't my favorite. I'd like to see warmer light, just for comfort and tradition, but that's totally a matter of taste.
I think you will be totally satisfied, assuming the longevity is good.
Installation was super easy. Getting the OEM connectors out of the harnesses was the hardest part. The parts fit perfectly, and took no time to get in. Make sure you move the Canbus (current adapter) out of the way so that it doesnt come in contact with any hot parts (the aluminum heatsink on the back of the bulbs, for instance). The instructions were pretty clear, but honestly, all you do is disconnect and remove the old lights, plug these in and insert the bulb into the housing...very easy.
Other reviews said the regular beam is much brighter than stock, but that "brights" or hi-beams are not that much brighter, and I do agree. There is a change between the 2, but its not much. Basically, just enough to flash other drivers.
I ordered these in July (Prime day), and its now the end of September, so theyve worked flawlessly for several months. Im satisfied that theyre a quality product at this point.
UPDATE: Its now October of 2019 and one of the bulbs is starting to misbehave. After 2+ years tho, I'm very happy overall with the performance of these LED bulbs for the cost. The fan in one of the bulbs started making a lot of noise a few weeks back, clearly audible from inside the car with the engine running. The other day, the "low beam" stopped working altogether. Brights still work fine though, so I just drive around with brights on. IDK if that will cause them to wear out even faster, but its ok for now. I'm buying another of these to replace the 2 year old bulbs. Im definitely going to keep going to these while I still own this car.
Picture: best Picture I could get hope it helps. Win led on left
I am please to tell you that these specific LED headlamps provide a very good beam pattern and are very bright with a very nice bright white, or slightly blueish color. Nighttime visibility was superior to my original halogen bulbs and I was amazed by all of what I could see while driving, in terms of road reflectors, freeway signage, it seemed as though everything on the road was catching the light from these bulbs.
Installation was pretty straight forward, just simple plug and play, your result may vary depending on what vehicle you drive and how easy swapping headlights is for your particular vehicle, I drive a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The Kit comes with the driver which is wired to the actual bulb and then a second driver/relay that is supposed to help with flickering and stability. I don't think the relays are specifically required but I installed them regardless.
Although these bulbs do come with fans and a heat-sink to cool the bulbs they still felt like they get very hot, as I could feel moderate heat coming from the headlight assembly and hood after a 40min drive on the freeway. I don't think it was abnormal heat as I know the halogens would get pretty hot as well, I was just expecting the LEDs to run a bit cooler given that they require so much less wattage to run.
Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend these headlamps to anyone interested in replacing their old out of date halogens bulbs. Over time we'll see about longevity and durability, and I'll keep this post up to date if anything changes or goes wrong.
I have a 2013 Dodge Dart, i was running some basic "gp thunder" blue halogen bulbs, I heard from a friend these were a great upgrade so I took the chance, got them in. I plugged them in and they were very bland, not impressive at all. Not focused at all, I should have just spent the money and went HID. The problem with projectors and these bulbs is they need a forward facing light and this just goes side to side so they don't work,l.
Another problem is the fans are loud!! Inside the car I can hear them humming over my engine! Sounds like my electric fan kicked on. I made a video of the car off and the sound of the fans as I'm turning the lights on and off . They might be ok for regular housings but these are horrible for projectors.
